How to unlock the Trusted Hero achievement in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes - Definitive Guide
Whenever you enter a battle, you will be given three options. Fight, auto and flee. Whilst flee is obvious, fight means that you will decide the moves and items you use, whereas auto will let the game decide for you.
I found this especially useful when dungeon crawling, as the battles can become repetitive, and often your team can defeat all enemies before they even have a chance to attack you. If you do a fair bit of grinding and exploring, you’ll get this achievement in the first 3-4 hours of gameplay.
Generally I’ve found the auto option to be very successful, and so far it has not resulted in a team wipe. However I have been careful not to use it in battles where I think I’ll need to possibly use items or decide which enemy to attack first.

The "Auto" option is available right from the start of the game, and will likely be your go-to for the majority of basic battles. This allows your party members to automatically select options based on your battle settings, which can be changed to focus on different things for the entire party at once, or for each individual member in the settings. Simply use this during basic battles in dungeons that you don't need to use any specific strategy on until it unlocks. You'll likely do this for the entire game, so no worries here. I changed my global settings to where my party would not use any actions that cost MP, just so I could avoid managing that with items later on.
