So I didn't know this ahead of time and did it manually but there is actually a really sneaky way of doing this achievement.

After you finish the race, the AI will start driving around the track on its own during the result screen. ... Somehow the drifting turbo it does counts for your total. So basically you can leave your console on overnight and it'll pop the achievement for you at some point as long as you stay on the result screen.
