This boss is in the Acadamy in the middle of the Lake of Liurnia. To get into the Acadamy, you first need the key. The key is behind the sleeping dragon (#1 in Image) to the left of the Acadamy. You can wake the dragon and hide. Grab the key when it's back is turned and run.
You can only go into the front door (#2 in image) with this key. Go through the area and this boss is a mid way boss to the main boss of the area. If you die, you need to run past quite a few ranged enemies to get back to the boss but should not get hit until the end. (#3 in image)
For the boss itself, I made sure my mana was maxed out first and summoned the Lone Wolf Ashes. I used the Swift Glintstone Shard spell while the wolves attacked. You will need to dodge a lot and heal quickly if you get hit. It took me 3 tries. I am level 54 with 42 intelligence and 18 vigor.

In the Northwestern part of the map, there will be a castle looking over a cliff. That is the Academy. To get the key to get inside, there is an island west of the Academy with a dragon guarding it. Run past to get the key. Once inside follow the only path to the boss.
How strong to be:
You should be level forty something by now and have decent stats amongst the health, stamina, and FP.
Enemy attacks to be aware of:
Moves around a lot and jumps all over the place. Does some swings with a sword and jumps up in the air for swing attacks as well.

Like the other guide says, get the key that's behind the dragon to get past the gate. Then make your way through the castle, there's 3 grace points i believe on your way to the wolf. I'll show you the last part from the grace point to the wolf and the fight. I was lv 59 with a +12 weapon and I did this on co-op. We beat it twice 2/2.
