How to unlock the Runner achievement in ELEX - Definitive Guide
unfortunately you can only join 1 faction per game, meaning if you want the achievements for the joining the other factions without having to play the game three times youll need to be a little creative.
When you reach the fort speak to William , he will give you a quest called Fragile power, it takes along time to complete this quest and there are many steps and subquests involved. After completing Fragile Power William gives you the chance to join the Outlaws, make a hard save then accept his offer, once the achievement pops reload your save then get the achievement for the other 2 factions. You can get yourself in a position in the game where all 3 will make offers for you to join, so its just a case popping the achievements then making a final decision.
you will need to deal with the 3 'overlords' are causing problems.
CHloe/Blake - the best way to deal with Chloe is to follow Rats questline the tramp Confederacy, again this a fairly long quest. Stick with Rat follow his instructions and Chloes debt will be paid.
Big Jim - Big jim has big ambitions and isnt content to be an underling, you will need to defeat him in the arena, before you can challenge him you need to defeat some Arena champions,
first find Ike and challenge him, you can get him drunk to make the fight easier. Use your jetpack and when he performs a heavy attack swoop down and hit him.
now find Gunn, he's harded than the ike but still pretty straightforward, I was level 9 at this point and had no problems.
Finally you get to challenge Big Jim, talk to GUnn first and pay him 500 shards and hell give you some poisoned alcohol which makes the fight much easier. I recommend going to the Forts shop and buying some grenades, Jetpack into the air and deploy them, 3 were enough to win the fight in second.
madbob Madbobs scrap deliveries have stopped, follow the quest and interrogate one of the scrap collectors, you discover he has had a spell cast which prevents him from talking about what has happened but you learn enough that a cleric is intercepting the scrap, The Cleric is based on the small island south of the fort, near the Old Factory teleport. Get him to put the deliveries back so the fort does not get suspicious. Finally Bob lost a bet and wants you to 'pay' the winner, Follow this quest to completion it all takes place in the Fort.
When the above 3 have been completed WIlliam makes an offer to join the Outlaws, make a save get the achievement then reload and get offers from the other 2 factions.
The three factions in the game are mutually exclusive, meaning you can only join one at a time. Each of them works about the same way though. You'll speak with the leader who will ask you to help their faction by completing side quests. You will generally want to choose the outcome that the leader would want, but you don't have to. Even if you always choose the wrong outcome, the leader will give you a chance to redeem yourself once enough side quests have been completed (or just let you join if you did what they wanted along the way). Keep doing side quests under their heading in your quest log and checking with them to see if you've earned their trust, and eventually you can ask to join.
