How to unlock the Beacon of Faith achievement in Elex - Definitive Guide

There are 3 separate achievements for maxing out the skills of each faction: outlaws, berserkers and Clerics.

Each faction has 20 unique skills, meaning you will need 20 skill points.

There is a method to obtain all 3 in one playthrough provided you haven't already joined a faction. If you have already joined a faction then you can only get the achievement for maxing out the skills of whichever faction you joined.

****Each Elex potion you drink gives 2 attribute points and each Strong Elex Potion you drink gives you 1 Skill point. You can Buy the recipes 'craft Elex potions' from Alrik in Goliet and buy the recipe 'craft strong Elix potions' from Caldrim also in Goliet.*****

In order to earn all three achievements in 1 playthrough:

Get to a point in the game where you have offers to join from all three factions. Also aim for getting Strength & Dexterity to 85 and the rest to around 70-75..

Make a separate hard Save before you begin .

Craft 20 Strong Elix potions so you can have 20 skill points spare also craft about 100 standard Elix potions (may need more or less depending on your current attribute points), drink all 100 potions and this will give you 200 attribute points, drink all 20 strong potions so you have 20 spare skill points, but don't assign the points yet. Also have around 3-40k spare cash.

Make a second separate save.

Now visit the Clerics Cathedral and agree to join, after joining go straight into the building opposite and talk to Baldur. Use your cash to buy each of the 20 skills. Begin using up your attribute points in line with the requirements for each skill. I believe 85 iNTELLIGENCE is the highest attribute requirement for Clerics.

Once you have the achievement; reload your second save (the one where you have all the unassigned attribute points, and this time join the berserkers repeat the process of buying the skills assigning your attribute points as per the requirements this will allow you to unlock

ELEXNature LoverThe Nature Lover achievement in ELEX worth 99 pointsLearned all Berserker skills.

Finally go over to the Outlaws and repeat the process to unlock

ELEXMaster CriminalThe Master Criminal achievement in ELEX worth 110 pointsLearned all Outlaw skills.

Provided you have the spare cash which i recommended and 20 spare skill points which i also recommended getting from Strong Elex potions; you can acquire all of a factions skills straight after joining.

Once you have all three of the achievements then join whichever faction you like best.

Unfortunately if you have already joined a faction you wont be able to earn all 3 of the achievements however you can still use the same method to quickly max out the skills of whichever faction you joined.

In response to a comment 'is there enough experience to level up enough to learn all skills in 1 playthrough?

Forgetting levelling up, it will take forever to get enough attribute and skill points. I completed the game at level 25. Levelling up is only important in the early to mid stage of the game after that it makes no difference. The key is in the games name Elex. The quickest way to boost your attributes points is creating and drinking ELEX potions at a workbench, each drink gives 2 attribute points. Also purchase the skills Animal trophy 1,2 & 3. Each kill netted me between 1-5k in sellable trophies.

I recommend getting the redeemer weapon and buying sunglasses, trader in fort. Go on a Kill spree and sell all the animal trophies to get the cash to purchase natural Elex and create Elex potions at a work bench. Visit Anna at the ORIGINS CAMP AND purchase the TRADER and workbench. Also invest in the skills which give better prices from vendors. The trader has an infinite amount of Natural Elex the vendor discount skill will redice the cost of natural Elex from 100 to 90 which over time is a fortune.

To further help from the above post, I will say that 20 strong Elex Drink is enough skill points and 160 Elex drink is all you need to get the tree filled.

Elex potions are 2 liquors and 4 natural Elex so 320 liquors and 640 natural elex
Strong Elex drinks are2 liquors and 10 natural elix so 40 liquors and 200 natural elex

grand total of ingredients: 360 liquors and 840 natural Elex

Enjoy

Preparation:
i was following a guide that recommended to increase all attributes to 40 ASAP. i just finished doing all the side quests and main quests and companion quests available before choosing a faction .
so i had everything done and couldn't progress to chapter 2 until choosing a faction. i was lvl 27 at this point with my attributes at 40.

now i used the infinite money glitch at the armor smith in goliet next to the blacksmith teleporter. i was ending up with around 35000 elexit, buying natural elex and liquor then using the exploit again.
infinite money glitch:
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

you need at least 360 liquor and 840 natural elex for all of these skill achievements.

doc sells natural elex 16 at a time, infinite back to back transactions. i bought the liquor (100 at a time, infinite back to back transactions) from the trader at my origin camp. (buy trader from annie at origin for 1000 elexit)
i bought the chemistry ability from a crafting trainer, and the strong elex potion and elex potion recipes (ignore small elex drink).
then i made at docs workstation at the fort, 20 strong Elex Drink and 160 Elex drinks.

Warning! if going for the Human achievement DO NOT consume any elex drinks. elex drinks RAISE COLD level.

with all the elex drinks in hand and a good amount of elex. make 2 or 3 manual save slots to go back to if you want to.
AFTER YOU SAVE drink all the elex drinks you made and you should have hundreds of attribute points and alot of learning points. your cold will probably now be at intuitive as well.
DO NOT TOUCH THE MANUAL SAVES FROM BEFORE DRINKING THE ELEX. make another save after drinking all the elex so you won't have to drink them each time.

your all set to go for the specific achievement see below for this achievement specifics.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Clerics:
go to Reinhold near the cathedral in the hort, you can now learn all cleric abilities right away from Balder who is directly across from reinhold in the house of suggestors. you need attributes like this: Strength 48, Constitution 55, Dexterity 50, Intelligence 85, Cunning 40. and enough elexit to buy the abilities from Balder (see money glitch above)

i had 185 attribute points and 29 ability learning points left after getting the achievement.

Post-achievo: reload the save from after drinking all the elex if still going for all the other achievements, or continue the game as normal.

There are six different skill trees in Elex. Each of them requires 20 Skill points to max out, and you only get one skill point per level up. While there is no level cap in the game, experience from quests tends to run out around 35-40, so it is unlikely you'll max out more than two skills trees naturally. If you want to limit yourself to one playthrough, you're going to need to hold on to as many skill points and attribute points as possible. Also, since you need to choose a faction at the end of Chapter 1, this limits how much you'll gain naturally.

One thing that takes the stress off this task outside of leveling, is finding "Elex Potions" that will grant extra skill/attribute points. Some of their locations can be found here. You'll also need to invest one skill point into the Chemistry skill, as you can turn the weaker Elex potions into the stronger versions, and brew them with Natural Elex and Liquor. The smallest Elex drink one only gives 100xp (useless) while the regular one gives two attribute points (most helpful), and the strongest one gives one skill point (also great).

Now, to actually max out a skill tree, you'll need to have a set amount of attribute points in each of the five attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Cunning, Intelligence, and Constitution). You get 10 attribute points per level, and after you hit 31 points in an attribute, you'll need two attribute points to raise the attribute by one total point; at 61 points it takes a whopping five attribute points to go up one total point. So this is very limited as well. You need a minimum of 40 attribute points in each of the skills no matter what skill you're trying to max, so aim to get all of them to that point with your first 15 or so levels, and then hoard all the points after that. Remember you're also hoarding as many skill points as possible too (though some skills are helpful to purchase along the way for other achievements - lock picking and hacking).

Now, to make this a bit easier to read, before joining any faction at the end of Chapter 1, make sure you have the following:

  • 20 skill points saved up
  • All your attributes at 40, then all attribute points saved up
  • Complete all faction side quests and be able to join all three (but don't)
  • Buy a ton of Natural Elex/Liquor and make Elex potions (I made 200 to be safe)

Now you can start saving and reloading to get all six skill trees maxed out. Max out one of the first three skill trees (Combat, Survival, or Crafting) and then reload to get the other two. Now, join a faction (Berserker, Outlaw, or Cleric) and max that faction's skill tree and reload to get the other two. Reload once more, and now you can actually spec your character how you want and join whatever faction you want to be in permanently (check their skill trees for what would benefit your play style).

WARNING: Drinking the Elex Potions (as well as eating Natural Elex) increases your Cold rating. It is a slow process (supposedly every 10 potions increases your Cold by 1 point according to PC players), but you want to avoid doing this until you have the "Human" achievement and corresponding ending achievement ("Pure Rebel"). It is tempting to just max all your skills right away, but you could screw yourself out of those two achievements later on if you drink hundreds of potions and do not have enough dialogue choices in the game to lower your Cold enough afterward.

However, you CAN safely bump your attributes in this manner if you're careful. Once you have made enough emotional choices and unlocked the "Human" achievement, try drinking 10 Elex potions and check your Cold rating. If it didn't change, save your game and drink another 10. Repeat until the rating does change, then reload your last safe save file. The next time you make a choice that results in the "Cold Decreased" message, you should be safe to drink another 10 potions (or more). Doing this will gradually make you more powerful as you go, so the faster you get the "Human" achievement, the faster you can begin to make your character OP.

To get unlimited money by glitching vendors, see this video. Using that money, you can purchase unlimited amounts of Natural Elex and Alcohol from any vendor (upgrading the Camp in the Center to have a vendor is the easiest). Then with the Chemistry skill on your character, you can make unlimited amounts of Elex Potions (upgrade the Camp to have a workbench). See this video for how to buy those ingredients (the stock replenishes every time you speak with the vendor, that isn't a glitch) and how to craft the potions afterward.
