How to unlock the Honorary Citizen achievement in Elex - Definitive Guide

The 80 hours of gameplay do not need to be on the same savegame.
It is tracked account wise.

For safety sake, don`t idle in the main menu and have your controller on.
Either by using a loading cable connection/ a wired controller or
even a wireless controller with a button/trigger or stick taped down.

I was around 40 hours in having every other achievement and that was with a map for cool items stat boosts, elex duping(only very late cause of having to handle cold levels) and having done every quest. With wiki its just not a very hard game.
Telling you any tips to speed up the game is pointless because of this achievement so....

Have a bit of fun for me

Whoever designed this achievement really is a complete moron. Either have enough content in your game to last 80 hours or dont make us idle the console for 30 odd hours because you are too dumb to come up with a better incentive to play your game.

Simply play 80 hours worth of gameplay.

You can track the amount of hours played by viewing saved file descriptions in the Load game menu.

Anyone have an estimate for the completion minus this achievement? Will everything else take the full 80 or will it require a bunch of time wasting after popping everything else?

Very late, but I had everything else done by about 30 hours, so I had to idle for 50 hours, or about 2 days.

well possibly good news, I don't think the game ticks in game hours, it just watches the system clock. i got the cheev on XB4 while the game was off, console was off, and I was at Lowes.

Yeah, same as Ssj Sean. I was literally just here doing stuff on my computer, and then it popped a notification that I had unlocked this achievement even though I only have maybe like 50 hours of gameplay, nor was I even playing the game at the moment lol.

The tracker seems to only being going up via actual gameplay. How did you guys manage progress when not playing?

Even though the tracker tracks the time from your savegame, the actual achievement unlocks after 80hrs of combined, cummulative play time. My savegame was at ~50hrs when the ach unlocked, and my xbox wasn't even turned on when it popped. ^_^

If you use my guide properly and only do one play through the game, you will likely not hit 80 hours played (probably only 30-40). To boost the rest, I found out you can go to the "Idle" preferences in your Xbox settings and uncheck the "show notifications when idle" box, and this will stop the game from pausing when you walk away. Previously, I had thought you could only get a max of an hour (which is the other setting in that menu). With that box unchecked, your game will not pause when the Xbox goes idle, provided you have a controller plugged in.

Any time spent in the game is taken into account, even if you started playing for the second time

You can view the time in the save/load menu. But it takes into account the pure game time without reboots and deaths, so you will receive the trophy before the counter reaches 80. You can leave the console on, but before that, take some action to prevent it from going into sleep mode.

It seemed to me that the trophy was buggy.

Don't worry if it doesn't fall out after 80 hours. I specifically tracked the time in the game using a PS time tracker and it happened at the 96th hour, the console stood for almost two days

There is a feeling that the game has some kind of protection against filling time in the AFK. I started playing and was aware that after fulfilling the conditions for all the trophies, I would have to spend a lot more time in the game. Therefore, I immediately decided to turn up the timer. I left the game on overnight. I get up in the morning and the game crashes with an error. and on the last save it’s only about +1 hour. The next day the story repeated itself. Then he left the game on, but with the walking stick turned down, pushed the character into a corner and went to bed. In the morning I turn on the TV - the game works, the character walks in place. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but apart from these 2 times the game never crashed
