This game is an massive 3D idle clicker, so this, like many achievements will come from time, and time only. Skill is not needed here, as the game runs itself. Your only job is to upgrade and spend coins, gems, and whatever else the game throws at you.
You can unlock mercenaries from the tavern, with a beer token or 150 gems. Unlock 10 in total for this. Should be about 20-30 mins into the game if you take advantage of all the freebies and stuff you start with, and claim all progression prizes.
