How to unlock the Challenger achievement in Enter The Gungeon - Definitive Guide

Daisuke is a NPC you will eventually rescue from the Gungeon in one of the prison rooms. He will hang out in the right door next to the gungeon entrance. For 6 credits you can enable challenge mode, which adds a special modifier to every room to make the game much harder. The list of possible challenge conditions is extensive, and can be found on the official wiki, but usually it just means that there will be extra hazards to avoid or certain enemies you need to kill first or last.

I find that this is easiest to do in a rainbow run activated from another NPC you save who's in the same room as Daisuke. Rainbow mode give you a choice of items at the beginning of every floor, with some of the best items in the game being very common. The downside is you get no other chests or items from any other source. I just think that being able to have choice over what loot you get makes a big difference. This also lessens to need to fully explore every floor, because you can't get many other useful items from exploration besides just money to buy health and ammo.

Literally had 8 hearts and 6 shield on floor 4 and was insta killed by the laser modification thing that covers the floor. So dumb.

Rainbow run definitely worked better for me, but this is not easy, lost a run at the last phase of the Dragun due to high stress

This is a challenging achievement. The other solution recommended rainbow mode to help, but I didn't find that very helpful. Yes you get to choose your item for the floor, but that means you only get one item per floor instead of the normal three to four(two chests, two boss items). The other big challenge is when you get to the Gun Dragon it's a suped up version. It shoots extra bullets that are faster than normal, and you also have the High Stress modifier. So any hit you take drops your health to half a heart, so if you get hit again within that window it's game over. Because of this I would recommend stocking up on blanks and invincibility items. That way if you get tagged you can use a blank or item to protect you from getting hit again.

Other than that I found that the most useful items for helping with the modifiers are items that allow you to fly (ie Wax Wings) or just make you immune to fire/poison (ie Hazmat Suit/ Sponge). These items allow you to basically ignore the Poison Pursuit and Thermal Clip modifiers which are quite annoying. You're focused on the enemies and accidentally light yourself on fire or get poisoned.

The way you can complete this challenge is first, get good. If you so wish, after hours and hours of practice and runs, you get used to the challenges and the game becomes more manageable. The Floor 4 boss will have a special modifier, but if you're good at the game the modifier doesn't make them significantly more difficult. The Dragun will attack more rigorously and you can't take two hits in succession, but if you've beat the game a good amount of times it's feasible to complete it on just a normal run.

If you want to cheese it, the Gunslinger makes this challenge significantly easier (though unlocking him is very hard), and you can also use a Rainbow Run to make this even more easy. Just repeatedly play until you get a boss destroying gun, and breeze from floor to floor collecting A and S tier items, evaporating the competition. The Robot is a good pair for a Rainbow Run, as the junk from the normal chests will upgrade his damage output tremendously over the course of the run, and after a few attempts I was able to complete it using the Makeshift Cannon and Gunther.

If you haven't yet unlocked most of this game's really good items and weapons, you should probably try to target some other challenges before attempting this, as the items you can gain by doing so are immensely helpful. Also remember that the Enter the Gungeon wiki is extremely helpful for understanding weapons and items, and that you can use the wiki as a reference for many aspects of the challenge run, how different items and guns behave, and how to unlock them.

Rainbow Runs work well like the other person said, but what I found the easiest was using Gunslinger for this challenge as the added synergies help even the odds when it comes to the rng. For the first two floors I prioritized getting as much items/guns possible, and then once you get to around the 4th floor I'd focus on just preserving health and running through the floor as fast as possible. I won't recommend any of the secret floors as they are too much of a risk. Using this strat I've got the achievement on my 3rd attempt.

The DLC is excellent, but it turned out to be ambiguous in complexity.
On the one hand, this achievement is truly one of the most difficult, since random effects are applied to each room. And the further it goes, the worse, there are more effects and their combinations are capable of ruining what would seem to be an ideal scenario for passing. This is especially true for bosses, because... starting from the third floor under amplifiers they began to sparkle with new colors. Especially a dragon or priest.
On the other hand, loopholes appeared - saving between floors. So we either play honestly and train a fantastic reaction with luck and patience (it’s better to do this, because this is true hardcore, worse than the 6th floor and a lich), or after successful clearings and excellent layouts, we throw the saves into the cloud. Lost - download. Even if you have the opportunity to save, get ready, this will still be one of the most hardcore adventures. It would be nice for a dragon to have a makeshift cannon with amplifiers. Or at least a rocket launcher (I passed with it).

After receiving the Lead God trophy (five master rounds in one run), an item is unlocked: a very hot watch. They stop time when the character stands still. Actually, you can collect enough hegemony credits, start the rainbow race and restart it until this clock falls out. With this watch, passing will not be difficult. Passed it the first time, the watch fell out of the chest after 10 restarts. The perfect combo of this watch + Gunter.
