This is actually a bit misleading, as killing enemies with a gun and them falling in a pit after still counts. This means you don't have to try and do this intentionally if you don't want to, just kill enemies like normal and you'll get it.

So in short, just kill enemies standing near pits and you'll get this and an in game reward (The pit lord necklace)
