Your first chance to get this is near the start of the of game in the Ceto star System.
After you play for a while you will be able to leave the first Ceto region. Just "south" you will see the Nerea planet with 3 places you can visit.
At the Nephtys Plains location, there is a G&B base that sells a number of ships.
The cheapest is the Predaotor F8 at 12,609, but you probably want to save a little more and get one of the better ships unless you are in some particular race to get this achievement asap.
NOTE: when you go to purchase options you can sell your current and buy a new ship. Your starting ship sells for about 10,000

Make a manual save just before entering the shop. Buy the cheapest ship. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKS, then just reload the save.
What's the best recommended ship to buy? Or will we be upgrading a lot along the way?
I saved 95,000 for what I thought was better ships, but when I went back there was another ship now worth 153,000.

Normally you don’t loose money while selling your ship you bought
