Sticky Turrets only stick to rough surfaces (asteroids/ground not ships/structures). Locate a small group of enemies and lure them to the side of an asteroid. Then, drop a few Sticky Turrets (hold

Also, you have to first have Sticky Turrets in your inventory and equip them so when you Hold B they'll be an option to select. (Current guide doesn't explain this.)
