An Okkar Frigate is a rarely spawning, large ship that is covered with weapons which will quickly shred an unprepared player ship. Even with the ridiculously overpowered Ancient Weapon (obtained by fitting the corresponding glyph), this ship will take many, many direct hits before exploding and leaving a shattered hull and numerous items. Your best tactic is to find cover from which to attack and to specifically target the glowing energy cores to ultimately destroy the ship. As a rare spawn, Frigates will usually be found in later Sectors but they can most easily be found in the alien homeworlds accessed through wormholes. These wormholes can only be accessed with the Encounters DLC and after completing enough of Karlie Sharpe’s missions. You will be given a wormhole located message upon entering a system with a wormhole however you will need to look around for a glowing turquoise light which expands upon nearing. Enter the wormhole, look for the huge crystal emanating energy, attack it and enemies will warp in, usually a frigate and several smaller enemies. Be prepared for a battle.
