Karlie is a character introduced in the Encounters DLC. You will first encounter het as ??? in a map. After the first introduction she will be displayed on the starmap. A Small note. This solution will include several spoilers about Kylies missions and will require multiple runs.

The second time you meet Karlie she will ask for your help. She wants you to cover her while she hacks 4 G&B mining lasers. The only thing you need to do is fly close enough for to the lasers for Kylie to hack them. On the last location a Okkar Corvette will appear. Since you and the Okkar don't get along, Kylie cancels the mission.

The next time you encounter her, she will exit a wormhole. After talking to her, she will give you a permanent unlock which allows you to find and enter wormholes yourself. Her next mission for you will require you to find and enter a wormhole. The wormhole will lead to an Okkar homeworld. Here you will need to find 5 drones (they will blink red). After finding them all you should probably leave as fast as possible since Okkar don't like intruders. Exiting the Wormhole will complete the mission. A side note. When visiting an Okkar homeworld, you can destroy the Crystal pillar for a significant amount of viridian.

In your next run in with Kylie, she will give you another mission. This time she will give you an Access Key to unlock an AI core at a G&B refinery. The AI core will be displayed in your hud when you enter the location. You just have to fly over there, use the Access Key and blow it up. Note that you will need to get a new Access Key if you didn't finish this in one run.

After the mission in the refinery, you can find Kylie one last time. She will tell you something about herself and will leave the DMZ for good. After the cutscene the achievement will unlock. I think that you can even kill her after this cutscene, however it isn't required for the achievement.
