Once you have unlocked the Quantum Chemist you can research the Megasafe and Fusion generator.
The Megasafe needs 5 power and to be wall mounted but stores 10,000 gold. They cost 15k but take little space. Each Fusion generator gives 48 power. You need 500 power (11 fusion generators) for the 100 safes you need. Racks only hold 4k but no power requirements so an option.
Once you have enough capacity by building safes/racks to hold 1 million gold, simply focus on earning gold and not spending besides wages. This takes time and planning. Maybe use the basement or very top level whilst going for this achievement?
