How to unlock the Chest Nuts achievement in Evil West - Definitive Guide

There are total of 403 collectibles in the game
  • 312 Cashes
  • 60 Lores (not required for a achievement)
  • 21 Chests
  • 8 Hidden Perks
  • 2 Weapon Upgrades
The chests will also contain cashes which are counting for this achievement

Currently, users report that you have to collect all cash in one run, not by chapter selection if you miss a cash. I'm honestly not sure, so that is possibly to be taken with caution but can also be true. I have collected everything in one run and the achievement unlocks without problems.

Cash can be collected with chapter select across multiple playthroughs as I did this across normal, evil and then story to clean up.

Shouldn't this be flagged as a "Viral" achievement? Since if you play with someone that has unlocked it, you unlock it too. It's probably a bug, but I guess it technically fits the category "Viral".

I followed PowerPyx's guide and #26 on chapter 9 doesn't appear for me. I was oddly able to recollect #12 using chapter select though. I'll update this when I finish the game. Hopefully not bugged.

Update: not bugged, but quite a few cash bags don't appear in NG+ for me, so I recommend getting everything in one playthrough.

Hi All

There are grand total of 403 collectibles across the full game. There are:

  • 312 Cash Bags
  • 21 Chests
  • 8 Hidden Perks
  • 2 Weapon Upgrade
  • 60 Lore (not required for full 1000G
Chest will contain cash that contain towards this achievement, as well as in game skins. In the video we show you all locations of the collectibles, timestamp below the video.

In the video it states that there is no chapter select but if you go into the lore tab in game there is an option to replay missions - it even specifically mentions the ability to get collectibles you missed.

I don't know how new game+ works so you might still need to collect everything before completing the last mission.

New game much carries everything over, cash bags will respawn the game remembers which ones you have missed and found

Apparently you can’t do mission replay to earn achievements, it bugs out the achievements for some reason, but it’s not happening to everyone either so for some people it works and for others it doesn’t, recommend getting everything in one continuous play through so you have no issues

You can pause in game, and there is a section where you can select a level. It will show you what you’re missing and if you are in ng+ you can replay the mission from that pause screen. I think it’s under the “Lore” tab but I could be wrong

I'm almost tempted to delete my save files from everywhere to start up a new game to see if that works. Surprised the devs haven't fixed the cash issue yet, because in the game it even tells you to go back and replay levels to get things you missed.

Right, so i can confirm this does work with NG+ mode. I completed the game yesterday on Normal difficulty and then what i did was this:-
Loaded my original save game up with NG+ mode, NOT start a new save!
Then made sure i did not change the difficulty, i kept it the same (normal).
I then proceeded to load each chapter through the Lore tab until i had all the collectibles that i missed up to chapter 16.
The achievement popped as it should when i collected the last bit of cash.
As a side note, i did this whole collectible run in one sitting as well, i did not restart the game or console. Took approx 6 hours. Flicking between the Youtube App on Xbox and the Game itself.

Just a word of warning. We ran the game on normal and missed a few cash bags. Did NG+ to finish them off. All collectibles are now listed as completed but no achievement popped

Looks like I got lucky. Finished my first playthrough on Evil, ran a NG+ on Story for the special boss related achievements (loading the specific levels), then ran another NG+ on Normal, loading the specific levels I needed to 100% for chests. I did not play straight through to avoid any potential bugs.

Chievo popped as I got the last chest I needed.

All achievements popped for me on NG+, besides this one.

My original run was on normal, my next run was Evil on NG+, now I'm on Story on NG+. The lore tab shows everything unlocked, but this one won't budge.

As a side note, if anyone is having issues with their game crashing on the lightning in a bottle level when you try to use tornado grenades to clear the path right after the first tower, turn your game to "graphics mode" rather than performance mode, turn your UI size and gamma all the way down and you should be good.

My game crashed every time at this point in performance mode on an Xbox Series X. Made these changes as a last ditch effort and it worked... Very hard to see with gamma all the way down and unsure if it's a necessity.

This is a cheap trick of getting the achievement but if you have a friend who has already done this, joining there multiplayer session gives you it instantly.

Can confirm. Twice even.

All I had to do as the host with the achievement was invite the other player, load my most recent checkpoint, and once the other player was loaded in they confirmed the unlock.

Cash is the In-game currency for buying weapon upgrades, and each chapter contains cash stashes. You can track your progress from the lore tab in the main menu to find out how many are in each chapter and which ones you missed.

A friend collected everything in his world and invited him to the game.
I joined, received a trophy for collecting all the collectibles, already had unspent skill points and cash that I poured into skills - I received a trophy.
It also works for passing on difficulty, but it is necessary that the host has the difficulty and he does not change it (if the level is running from the beginning).

I collected the lost money for NG+, except that I did not touch the large chests already opened in NG. In the end they gave me the trophy.

The trophy is very strange and possibly buggy, I had to go through the game three times.
For this you need to know the following.
1). You only need to collect all the gold on the game you played for the first time, i.e. Do not go to NG+ under any circumstances.
2). The gold category includes not only small bags and small chests, but also large chests with perks.
As a result, on the third playthrough, the trophy fell on the penultimate stage, and on a larger chest. Although at the last stage there was still gold.
