This is unlocked in Evoland II.
You'll come to a storyline required Mine dungeon at one point in the game, where you have to let a Creeper from Minecraft kill you. The game will play like Bomberman while you are in the mine so damage yourself so you're only one more hit away from death by standing near your own bombs, and then walk up to a Creeper and let it kill you.
In case you missed this somehow, and are coming back to the Mine later in the game(As you will have to come back later to get two of the cards once you get Menos back in your party), you'll have your sword again. Just let the other enemies damage you until you are close to death, and walk into a Creeper.
In cause you don't know what a Creeper is, it's a green monster with 4 stubby legs that will explode once you get close to it. You'll easily be able to spot it right away from the other enemies in the Mine.
