How to unlock the Lost My Leg In Nom achievement in Evolve - Definitive Guide
If you do this online in random matches, it is more likely when you're in a completely random group who does NOT coordinate well, because, chances are, the hunter team will be more spread out and confused, and this gives more opportunities for the monster to take advantage of dead bodies and eat them. Just let yourself be killed somewhere convenient and your chances will be higher.
I suggest using the 75% eating quicker perk as this will make the tight moments of eating the corpse quicker and easier.
J The Altruist
You can earn this achievement not only by getting eaten by THE monster, but by wildlife aswell. I got this achievement 2 times (on main and dummy account) being eaten by a Reaver ( http://evolve.wikia.com/wiki/Reaver ) and not by the Monster itself.
Pack of Reavers:
You will probably need some tries to get the achiev being eaten by the Reavers, since their spawn in packs is not guaranteed.
Without further ado:
1. Select "single player › custom".
2. Select Arena mode and an underground map, since rocky environments seems to slightly rise the chance for Reavers to spawn. I personally got this (twice) in the Broken Hill Mine.
3. The important settings you should specify in the "Extra" section, before starting the match, are:
Difficulty: Balanced
Wildlife: High
Strikes: 0 (we want our hunter to STAY dead)
Battle Wins: 3
Battle Duration: Infinite
Monster Armour: 100%
Monster Stage: 3
Sudden death: no
4. DO NOT play as "medic". The AI chases the medic as first target and you will not be able to stay away from the hunter bots.
5. Select Goliath or Kraken as monster, the DPS of the other ones may kill the hunter bots too quickly.
6. As soon as the match starts, DO NOT follow the hunters, but search for a pack of Reavers far away from the fighting monster and hunters instead. It's important to stay away from the fighting area, since the stage 3 monster will otherwise scare all surrounding wildlife.
7. Important! Reavers will attack you only if in packs: an isolated Reaver will run away from you.
8. Let yourself be killed by Reavers. You have a 50% chance that a Reaver will start eating your body after your death.
The reason for starting with a stage 3 monster with 100% armor is that it will give you more time to look for Reavers and the monster itself wont try to eat any wildlife at the beginning of the match.
Note: if you want to try the Reavers method AND a chance to get actually eaten by the monster, start a match with
Monster Armour: 50%
Monster Stage: 2
instead of
Monster Armour: 100%
Monster Stage: 3
Create an online Custom Game pick these settings on any map:
- Mode: Arena
- Difficulty: Favours Monsters
- Map Effect: Fair Weather
- Wildlife Population: High
- Strikes: 0
- Battle wins required: 1
- Monster Stage: 3
- Monster Armour: 100%
The one going for the achievement need to pick any hunter, and the other picks the monster. The monster needs to take out 2 bot hunters, leaving 1 bot hunter and the player alive. Doing this will make it much easier for the monster to prey without getting interrupted. The monster then needs to down the player, avoiding the bot so it does not end the match. After the hunter player has been killed, the monster can then feed on the hunter. While doing so, the hunter cannot take over any bots, as this will negate the achievement. The feeding perk for the monster can make things easier.
Requires at least 2 people
I am not sure if you need another player for this, but I have yet to experience the bot eating me. So I would say if it's not needed, then it's heavily recommended that you do this with another player. So set up a custom game and use these settings:
Difficulty: Favors Monster
Wildlife Population: High
Strikes: 0
Battle wins required: 1
Monster starting armor: 100%
Monster starting stage: 3
The one needing the trophy then picks any hunter, and the other picks the monster. The monster then takes out 2 bot hunters, leaving 1 bot hunter and the player left. This is to make it much easier for the monster to prey without interruption. The monster then downs the player, avoiding the bot as to not end the match. After the hunter player has been killed, the monster can then feed on the hunter. While doing so, the hunter cannot take over any bots, as this will negate the trophy. The feeding perk for the monster can make things easier.
The easiest way to bust him at 3, you play as a hunter, one friend as a monster and the second friend as a hunter, in your game we set the monster to level 3 (optional) so that he first kills all the bots, when your monster friend kills all the bots , now let him kill you and after you bleed to death, eat you, another friend at this time should not interfere with the monster.
option for two: we move the bots away from you as much as possible, it is advisable to knock down two and have one bot pick them up, at this time your friend should kill you and then devour you, this is extremely difficult to do, but possible.
