How to unlock the T-Minus Barrier Break (Nautica) achievement in Exo One - Definitive Guide
I could never seem to gain enough speed in this level. However at the mid-point of the level you'll find an orange booster gate and a very tall cliff on the left.
I'm not sure if you can boost to the top if you have enough speed, but you can fly off to the far left until you find the base of the cliff and then just roll your way to the top. It takes a little while, but launching from the highest peak will give you the height to make a sound barrier dive.
Launching from the peak out over the water also unlocked the "Got High" achievement for this level for me:

This along with the Got High achievement popped for me using this method. Had to hard reset the Xbox though since it wasn't showing I had it.

The mega-cliffs _is_ climbable, but it won't be easy. And you can fail at the top edge of it and then it's another 4 minute climb up for you.

This is one of the hardest barrier break achievements in the game, so here's a cheese method.
At any point in the level enter high gravity mode and sink all the way to the bottom of the ocean, then hold LT and no other input, you will enter a buggy state and fly upwards at a good speed, it looks like it should unlock the get high achievement, but I never had any luck. After you are done ascending do a well time dive to skate along the water easy getting the achievement. The easily repeatable nature of the bug launch should allow you to keep trying until you get it. This method doesn't work on the other water levels as they are too shallow, but Nautica II and Darwin III are among the easiest anyway.
