Thanks to xLetsP1ayGod, basically assists slow you down, I tried the first challenge with full assists and couldn't get silver, I turned all but antilock brakes and low steering assist off and got all gold and 2 red diamond times on Alphaterra, boost off the line, boost to straighten out from slides and slide as little as possible, take corners wide to carry speed where possible
