How to unlock the Push the Button achievement in F1 2011 - Definitive Guide
The first is the normal way as it's supposed to be obtained through regular play. On a long straight or on a turn where you're close to overtaking, hit the LB (default controller button to activate KERS). Once you overtake the other driver, the achievement will unlock immediately.
Another way to get this one starts with you making sure that the auto-braking is turned off (this is on by default if you're playing with the AI difficulty set to easy). Go into a race where you're not on pole (first place). Then, start the race up. After about a second or two into the race, you'll be able to activate KERS. Just activate KERS into the first turn and don't lay off the accelerator. Yes, you'll fly off the track, but since you're not braking for the turn, you'll go up at least 1 position and the achievement will unlock immediately.
The last way to get this achievement is a good idea if there's another driver immediately behind you or neck-and-neck with you, especially if you're on a straight. Just let the other driver pass you far enough that they take your position. Then, activate KERS and take the position back right away. The achievement will then unlock immediately.

KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) is an 80 bhp speed boost that can be used for 6.67 seconds per lap. KERS is signified by a battery icon in the lower right corner. If it is full, it will be red. As you use KERS, the battery will deplete. When you're coming alongside an opponent, press and hold to activate your KERS and cleanly overtake them (do not touch the other car).
Note: Three of the teams do not use KERS. These teams are Lotus, Virgin and HRT.
Note: It must be done in a race, qualifying and practice do not count.
