How to unlock the Drivers' World Champion achievement in F1 2013 - Definitive Guide
Before starting career mode, I highly suggest unlocking either Sauber or Lotus via Young Driver Tests. These are the best two teams you can start your career with (I personally preferred Lotus but I believe these two teams are pretty similar). I'm sure if you're amazing at F1 games you can get by with using any team, but if you're like me and have never played one before, I would highly recommend using Sauber or Lotus.
Set the difficulty to easy then adjust the driving assists to your preferences. If you are half decent at racing games, you should be able to win most if not all of the first 10 Grand Prix. (I won 8/10 of the first two and came in the top 10 in all 10) I would say I had about 230 points. After the 10th grand prix, one of the top three teams (Ferarri, Red Bull, Mercedes AMG) will offer you a contract. With any of these cars you should be able to obtain pole position and win the race with little difficulty. If you win all your races after you accept your new contract, you should unlock this around the Korean Grand Prix (At least thats what happened for me).
If there's any way I can improve this let me know.
When it is mathematically impossible for anyone else to catch you in the the drivers' championship, then the trophy will pop. The quickest and smoothest way to win the championship in Career Mode, is to be in the best car possible. When you first start the game, you will be forced into doing the Young Drivers' Test. Not only does it school you in how to race in this game, it is also there to determine what cars should be available to you for Career Mode. So the better you do in the YDT, then the better the car you can start with for your Career. In order to earn the Lotus drive you will have earn 9 Golds and 2 Silver Medals in the Tests.
I suggest earning and then taking the Lotus Drive for Career. Due to the minimum race distance being 25%, participating in a full calendar can take a hell of a lot of time. So in the opening 13 or so races, win them all and take the maximum points available. In dominating the first half of the season, it will earn you an unassailable lead, which then gifts you the freedom to start retiring from the remainder of qualifying and races in your 'Championship Winning Year'. You could even go one step further, from Race 5 start taking out your Championship Contenders so they do not score any points and you still winning the races. Risky, but this will speed things up significantly.
You have to have the most points at the end of the season, based on how you finish in each race.
You will get this as soon as it is mathamatically impossible for anyone else to win the title.
