How to unlock the It Only Takes One Shot achievement in F1 2013 - Definitive Guide
The easiest way to do this, in my opinion, is to go to season mode, select easy difficulty, and select either a Ferarri, Infinity Red Bull, or Mercedes Petronas. The first race of season mode is at Monza, so if you want to practice it a bit first before you try it, you can, but I had no difficulty doing it first try. If you don't get it, just retire from the race and move on to the next GP and repeat the qualifying process until you get pole position.
For this trophy to pop, you will need to set a time under the One-Shot Qualifying Setting and grab Pole Position - which is 1st.
You may want to lower the difficulty to ensure that you get P1. Furthermore you can use Flashbacks if you were to make any mistakes on your flying lap. To use a Flashback, press and select 'Instant Replay/Flashback'.
For a full explanation of the One-Shot Qualifying format, refer to The Heat is On.
When you play a season challenge, once you have selected your rival you will be taken to the qualification for the Grand Prix, and this will be "one Shot Qualifying".
You basically have one chance at setting a lap time and you must not cut corners, you must stay on the track.
You need pole position for this achievement, meaning you are the fastest car and to help you out you will see a ghost lap of the leading car, so if you beat the ghost you will get Pole Position.
You are able to use flashbacks if you need to and you can change the AI difficulty in race setting within the menus.
