How to unlock the Online Addiction achievement in F1 2013 - Definitive Guide

Having just gotten this achievement, here is my boosting guide.

Get a 2nd player to help you out, however they don't need to race.

1. Select Multiplayer from the menu
2. Xbox Live
3. Custom Race
4. Create Session
5. Adjust the Host Options to whatever you want.

Main ones are :-
Settings > Race Distance > 3 laps
Weather > Clear
Track > Classic Tracks cn_RB > Brands Hatch

Simulaton > Car Damage > Off
Collisions > Off

Session Settings > Max Players > 2
Privacy > Invite Only

Then SAVE Host Settings, so you don't have to do them everytime.
Create Session

Invite other player to the session, then Ready

Once in the car > Press cn_A 2 times (unless your in a 1980s car).
When the race starts PLAYER 2 do not move. You'll be disqualified (after around 1 min) and the race will reduce to 1 lap.

PLAYER 1 takes the win, and the race ends. I know its not about race wins, however you only need to do 1 lap at a time this way (around 1m 20 secs) and not the 3 laps you would have to do if you both drove.

So with this method you'll play 100 - 1 lap races, rather than 50 - 3 lap races.

To check it counts go back to the Multiplayer Menu and select Leaderboards and Find Me. This tells you how many Wins / Races you've done.

If Player 2 quits it does not count.

I got this at 25 races.

Happy Racing

I wonder if they have patched it then as this is exactly how I did it and I also helped a couple of other guys with my 2nd account and never moved off the start line with the account not going for the win.

Popped right at 25 races!

After having finished the co-op season, we raced 3 lap races. This was faster than doing the retiring method described above, because it eliminates unnecessary loading screens (which take longer than one lap on Brands Hatch)

When I did it, it was with a dummy account so easier to leave 2nd account. Thanks for info for people who are doing this in a group

Player 2 does NOT get disqualified if not moving.

I retired my second account during the second lap of my main. this is only then that the race ended as soon as I passed the finishing line (at 2 laps instead of 3).

At my next attempt, I retired my 2nd account straight after passing the start line, then I only had to complete one lap with my main.

I can confirm though that a DNF on the second layer does not prevent the first player getting the achievement.

It's worth to add that Split Screen races WON'T COUNT for the achievement while Co-op races will so you can do large portion of achievement while going for your Driver & Constructor co-op title.
Just remember what Giermol wrote in '50 races' guide, DNF's and Disq. doesn't count, you have to finish race.

This did not pop for me until 33 completed on-line races.

I don't think Codemasters can count so just keep pounding in the miles until it comes your way.

For this trophy you will have to complete 25 online races. If you are a regular online player, then this trophy will come naturally. You do not have to win the races, but, you do have to finish them. So being Disqualified, Retiring, Losing your Internet Connection or Crashing Out will not count as one of your 25 races. Furthermore the races that you complete in Co-op Mode will also count as one of your 25.

The most efficient way to do this is to participate in Sprint Races. You can either setup your own lobby or go and seek one yourself. You can check how many races you have completed via the leaderboards. Your total also appears on the loading screens when playing online; it does come up with some statistics, look out for 'Races Completed' and it will tell you how many you have done. This does not appear on all loading screens, only a few.

Warning: a few people have been complaining that they have had to race more online races than needed. For example some only got the 50 completed Online Races trophy after completing race 56. There is not much I can say to this, only to keep with and it will pop eventually. The majority of people have obtained this trophy when expected.
