How to unlock the Thanks To The Team achievement in F1 2016 - Definitive Guide

This will come over time(It is at least 2 seasons but points do carry over) but the important thing is to not change teams until you have bought all parts as you lose resource points when you switch teams(Thanks to xJohnGalt117x for that on a different guide).

You get around 460-560 Resource Points per race if you:
Complete all 3 Practice programmes perfectly
Complete all team objectives
Take part in practice
Get Pole position
Win the race penalty free
Are the 1st Driver for your team

I get 460ish by only doing 2 Practice programmes perfectly.

*"Take part in practice" - If you complete all 3 programmes in Practice 1, advance to the next session(Practice 2). When P2 starts, advance to the next session(P3) straight away.(You do not need to leave the garage to "take part"). Then do the same in P3. You only get 10(11 with the career booster) Resource Points per session for this, but that does start to add up after a while.

* Credit to nuxx au - you can earn a few more resource points if you do each practice programme in a separate practice session, because then you can get the 10 resource points for "Disciplinary Record - Penalty Free" for each practice session in which you drive at least one lap (and get no penalties).
*You actually don't need to drive a lap, you can just start up the Practice session then skip to the next one.

EDIT - This took me 2 seasons, and that was without doing practice in 6 races after ceasing R&D. I only ceased R&D in season 2 also

Explain negative votes please

The only question I have is... does this carry over into a second season or do they need you to get it in one single season?

It carries over thankfully. I assumed it would but had to check

To add to this solution, you can earn a few more resource points if you do each practice programme in a separate practice session, because then you can get the 10 resource points for "Disciplinary Record - Penalty Free" for each practice session in which you drive at least one lap (and get no penalties).

Towards the end of the year you will be offered to end R&D, this stops new updates being applied but doesn't stop points being collected and then at the end of the season the player gets a 25% boost on top of those they have stored up for the next season

Worth noting you can cease R&D once you reach Singapore. You then earn 25% bonus points on all races until the end of the season. So long as you stick with the same team this gives you a nice boost at the start of the next season.

Hey thanks for the Singapore tip, helped out nicely (still earning the upgrades though) but just a quick question, did anybody else's achievement tracker stop? Mine has got to 76% even though I only have 2 upgrades remaining to unlock.

I am still yet to get this achievement. I have this achievement sitting at 60% currently but just gone onto 2nd Season. The Singapore tip sounds pretty easy.

You can still do all the practice programs in P1, you just need to do a lap in P2 and P3 to get those extra points
Also, if you do full qualifying and set a lap in Q1, Q2 and Q3 you'll get extra points there too.

Practice - 220 points
Qualifying - 90 points (ish) The more you beat the expected qualifying position by gives more points here
Win the race - 93 points (ish)

1st driver bonus - 97 points (ish) I got this about 2/3rds of the way through season 1

Totals are about 440-450 per weekend as 2nd driver and 540-550 as 1st

For reference that's how I did it (didn't stop R&D for the boost Nickoshot mentions) and had every upgrade at the end of qualifying at Japan on Season 2

This is going to take you at least 2-3 Career seasons no matter what team you choose, so you may as well pick Mercedes (leaving Itchy Feet for last). Also, your upgrades will carry over to the following season.

To upgrade your car, you will need Resource Points. Resource Points can be gained throughout your career with Free Practice and the Practice programs offering the most. Since you get Resource Points for just participating in a session, I highly advise to space out your individual programs over each Practice session (also while concentrating on the team objectives), meaning do 1 program per Practice session. This way you'll be getting around 80-100 Resource Points per session instead of getting around 200 for just completing all the objectives in one. By doing it this way, you can gain around 350-400 Resource Points per race weekend (Qualifying plus Race included).

After you've gained a decent haul you're going to want to spend these points. This can only be done while you are in the Hospitality Area as you can access your Laptop. To do this press once, then press to go to Research and Development (second tab). Here you can start spending your points.

Each tiered team gets more expensive in terms of spending Resource Points, so I would highly advise against switching teams during careers as this will make it more of a grind as your Resource Points will be wiped plus all upgrades will be reset.

You will notice that you can cease R&D (Research and Development) during the Singapore Grand Prix by pressing on the tab. If you do, you won't be able to add any more upgrades to your car until the following season. However, you will be granted a 20% bonus on all points you earn until the end of the season.

For a visual reference on this, see below (includes the points you need):

The most optimal and fastest way (although in principle this is generally not a quick thing to do), in your career, at each grand prix, preferably have the status of first pilot, immediately in the first practice do a qualification test and familiarize yourself with the track, plus you win the qualification at the start of the race if you are in a strong car, you can immediately simulate the session from pole, or create a small gap and simulate, in total you will receive approximately 335 improvement points over the weekend.

Over the weekend you can get about 460-480 points, it is important that there is a bonus for the first pilot. play practice 2 and 3 (at least just go into it and finish it) and you need to win the qualification and the race
I advise you to do this trophy in a weak team (improvements are cheaper) and not rush to get the trophy for the constructors' championship; when you greatly improve your car, your partner will start earning points and you can easily knock out this trophy too

how many points can you get, at least, at each stage.
practice 1. 130. mastering the track and qualifying pace. we drive 2 laps.
practice 2. 21. we drive one circle.
practice 3. 21. we drive one circle.
qualification. 80. We drive one circle.
race. 100. We drive 5 laps.
1st pilot bonus. 73.

in total, without straining during the stage, driving only 10 laps, we get 425 points.

Further. If you win absolutely all the races, every 4th stage we receive a bonus of 300 points from the sponsor.

bonus. 7 races before the end of the championship, starting from the stage (Singapore) and before (Abu Dhabi), you can transfer the research department to developing a car for the next season. in this case, all purchases of upgrades for the current season will be blocked. in the new season you receive a bonus of 25% of what you earn for 7 races. approximately 740 points.

The fastest way to get platinum is to start the game with this trophy.
Let's start our career and Season 1:
1st practice – mastering the route, if we flawlessly get + - 100 resources
2nd practice – rubber control, if we get + - 100 resources flawlessly
3rd practice – qualifying pace, if we get + - 100 resources flawlessly
The goals of the team are carried out in parallel; if something is not completed, we carry it out.
1st place qualification + - 100 resources
1st place race + - 100 resources
additionally after the race we receive + - 100 resources, for the first pilot, a clean race, etc. and so on.
Total + - 600 resources per weekend.
By the end of the first season, I still had six not the most expensive car upgrades left to get.
Second season, closer to the middle, we get the trophy Thanks to the team. Your car will become the strongest, and your partner will begin to gain points in the CC standings.
I played at Manor, I don’t know how much cheaper this team’s improvements are than other weak teams, and the difference with Mercedes, as it later turned out, was + 1-2 additional full weekends. Anyway, we are finishing the second season for the trophy Best Designer and Last Chance, so as not to start the third season. During the knockout of the Thank you team trophy, career trophies will drop, the rest are also received in practices, qualifications and races of the 1st and 2nd career seasons.
