How to unlock the Bright Spark achievement in F1 2018 - Definitive Guide
I managed to get 10% of the way to the achievement and I had driven 280 miles or 450 kilometres.
So by my calculations 'Approximately' you'll need to drive 2800 miles in total or 4500 kilometres. This isn't a prefect calculation as some tracks are better for generating energy (Hard/Long corners).
*Figured out an easy way to grind this*
Go to unranked races, pick 25%, 50% or 100% race (Preferably longer races) When the race starts, just hit the menu button. You'll get credit for generating energy as the CPU drives for you. This will take longer than manually doing this yourself but with the free time you can watch a film, work or browse this lovely website! (I'd also make sure your ERS level to 5 to make sure the bar is always able to fill up). A 100% race on Brazil is about 10% of the achievement done and that takes around 1 hour 45 mins.
Luckily for this achievement you can use the achievement tracker which is pretty accurate. Online and Career races all help towards this so it should be one of the last achievements you go for.
The ERS (Energy Recovery System) deployment mode is a new addition tot his years’ game and allows you to manage the output of your battery to get some more horsepower into your engine. The ERS battery charges through braking and coasting with your car, while the energy gets deployed by accelerating and reaching high speeds. You can choose to set the ERS Deployment mode to automatic or manual, which makes no difference for this trophy.
For the purpose of this trophy I advise you however to set it to manual so that you can always assure that your battery doesn’t get fully charged and you can keep generating energy. To manage the energy deployment bring up your set-up menu while on track with the button and the last option will be the ERS settings. Make sure to always have this at least at ‘Medium (2)’ to not let your battery fully charge.
Unfortunately there’s no way to track your progress towards this trophy and it will take a long time to recover enough energy to obtain this trophy. Although all game modes (both online and offline) will count towards this trophy, this will likely be your last trophy remaining in the game anyway. However when you’ve done all the offline and online requirements for all other trophies you should be fairly close and simply have to keep racing in whichever mode you like best until this trophy pops. To give you a general idea, both me and other users have gotten this trophy when their driver in career had raced around 2,000 km and all other trophies (online and miscellaneous) were done.
