How to unlock the Purple Rain achievement in F1 2018 - Definitive Guide

This is simple if you are playing on Easy.

Just wait for a Wet Practice Session and complete the Qualifying-Pace program. You can easily get 1st place (perfect).

Certain tracks are more likely to get wet weather, such as Monaco, Brazil and Silverstone. U can also try advancing to the next Practice session if the first one is dry.

Race strategy is also pretty easy to do as well. That’s the one I used to get this achievement.

I found this easiest way to get this is to do the fuel saving program. As you spend lots of time off the throttle it's easy to save more than enough fuel and get the achievement.

This can only be done in career mode and requires a bit of luck because the weather settings are random. Select one of the practice programs and get a perfect (purple) rating while it’s raining. It doesn’t matter whether it’s light or heavy rain. For an explanation on how to perfect practice programs please refer to the As good as it gets trophy. As mentioned rain is a random factor, but tracks that often rainy conditions more often than others are Silverstone (England), Red Bull Ring (Austria), Hockenheim (Germany) and Spa Francorchamps (Belgium).
