How to unlock the You Big Show Off! achievement in F1 2019 - Definitive Guide

To get this you need to have the slider be all the way to the right towards Showmanship bar (yellow).

From the menu start new career... do all your personal data preferences whatever you want it doesn't matter. When asked about participating in F2, DO NOT SKIP THIS FEEDER SERIES... the results from these series don't matter but Claire interviews you after all 3 of these races and you need to pick all the cocky and selfish responses so you can boost your ego bar by about 10% before starting F1. laugh If by any chance you accidentally get Sportsmanship rating from the response, quickly Quit and Relaunch the game and when you start up your career again you should be back at the Interview.

After you've done with F2 now's time for the hard part the F1. Below are % chances I got Claire to interview me after doing each or some of these sessions:

-Practice session (~33% chance)
-Quali session (~50% chance)
-Race session (100% chance)

Now for the tricky bit... Claire will only interview when you actually participate/enter any session... She will never interview you if you simulate everything... however there's upside to this once you are in any practice, quali or race session you can just crash out or retire. Best part about this you can completely deplete your team's reputation and get fired as many times as you like, it won't matter. The slider will stay where you had it before being fired.

Some interview key phrases to look out for

"I'm the best"
"I'm here to win"
"I did this for the fans"
"I'm a little offended"
"Everyone is allowed one mistake"
"Maybe you should expect more" < when asked about smashing expectations
"He should watch where he's going" < when asked about contact with another driver

Occasionally Claire will ask you about R&D (these don't matter unless you want to make upgrades cheaper and it making it easier and faster to get "Seeing it Through to the End") and she will also ask you some hard/stupid questions where it either increases/damages your rep or your team's rep. The reason I said hard/stupid is because you are trying to go for Showmanship responses and avoid Sportsmanship ones, yet the answers she gives you are extremely similar in these scenarios.

At any rate you should NEVER pick any responses that would say good things about your TEAM... if all responses have word "TEAM" in them just press cn_B to No Comment.

Following all these points should get you the achievement at some point in Season 2. I got it in Singapore, but you may get it sooner as I accepted a few Sportsmanship responses and didn't reload. Good luck toast

Great Solution/Tipps over here. But there are some mistakes. there is no 100 % chance of getting an interview after a race. and getting the cheevo in the second season is a bit too enthusiastic. guess you were lucky ? Im on my second playthrough and its taking the same amount of time, like on my first fairness run. (Popped in my 4th Season, even thou i had all possible answers on Fairness)
Still a +1 !

For this one, did you retire from every session to get it? Or did you participate as normal?
For the first season, i retired from everything and got over halfway sportsmanship rating (I think it was to do with Devon being in a mercedes and getting good results)

Ive almost finished season 2 still retiring from every session, but i barely get an interview now.. just after the race and even then its "Why did you crash" ya know, crap that doesnt give a sportsmanship rating!

Claire is starting to piss me off a bit because im almost finished with it, just wanted to know if its better to participate in everything to get more questions?

I'm not certain about that. Maybe a recent patch glitched something? I heard people were getting their career modes reset.

When I was going for the sportsmanship one I crashed/retired from about 14/21 races and only did my favorite races with Mercedes... for both seasons and didn't upgrade the Merc at all and Claire still interviewed me plenty and got decent amount of sportsmanship questions asked.

When going for showmanship one. I retired or crashed from most practice and quali sessions but did the 5 lapper race everytime (because I wanted to stay with Alfa because of Kimi and because was also going for "First Amongst Rivals" and "Seeing it through to the end" achievements).

I guess what it goes to show you is you will get interviews if you maybe mix it up a little from time to time as even for me it became boring if I just did the same thing every race.

Yeah I'm definetely thinking going down the retirement route each race is easier for sportsmanship than showmanship.. I completed every race for sportsmanship and like I said, been retiring for showmanship.. I'm sure Devon plays a big part in it too, he was winning in season 1.. Loads of questions, barely in points season, h ardly anything..

Thinking that its probabaly best like you said to mix it up a bit.. I'm going to complete races from now on see where I get.. Its frustrating because I'm so close lol

Thanks for the reply anyway man

Even though I’m going for Showmanship some Showmanship answers are blocked out in interviews, any idea why?

This is such a trash achievement, I'm halfway through Season 4 right now and I've been winning and crashing out of races trying to mix it up and I'm only just a little over halfway with Showmanship. The interviews RARELY give me options to increase my Showmanship. This completely is ruining the game for me as I feel like I'm just wasting my time trying to go for these, hopefully Sportsmanship won't be as stupid.

I've just started season 4, and I'm about 90% now. Hate these achievements

This achievement is getting on my nerves.
I finished my first season and have less than 20%. Interviews pops every 3 or 4 races but certainly not every race. Whats going on?

pithiviers are you participating in every practice, quali and race session? Claire won't interview you if you sim through most of the sessions. You need to at least spend some good amount of time on track either racing or crashing.

You can also mix it up each weekend to increase your chances of getting interviews.

Se me hizo más fácil este logro, que el de deportividad. Lo saque en la 2da temporada en Rusia

Did Mercedes starting with f2, after that I did every practise session to get most resource points as possible. Also kept upgrading which makes everything easier. aero & chassis
After the mexico race season 2 the achievement popped.
Always avoid team answers !

Recovski I believe maxing out Sportsmanship (Fairness?) is much more difficult to get as Claire gives you very similar options which could either boost your rep, team's rep or Sportsmanship bar or give nothing at all. I'm on Season 2 of new career mode and I don't even have 50% on this bar yet.

Anyway I aimed for this achievement when I was going for "First Amongst Rivals" and beat the lower difficulty AI's in pretty much every race whilst upgrading the car and making my driver as cocky as possible believe me it's quite possible to get this in Season 2 as earliest as long as you pick all the cocky responses to questions Claire gives you.

Claire 100% interviews you after each race you participate in (Not simulate) and win, get on podium, close battle with driver(s), make contact with driver(s)/wall(s), crash or retire from race...

The only way I could see her not interview you after the race is if you start and finish race without battling anyone or making contact with anyone... which is extremely unlikely as there is no accurate AI on every track... they'll either be quicker than you and try to 100% attack your position as AI is very aggressive on this year's game than on previous or slower than you where you'll get past them with ease and higher up the grid.

o0EviIToaster0o it seems like they have updated the game, I'm still playing this game and doing career mode and now on Season 4 as well... I'm hardly getting interviews regarding showmanship and sportsmanship slider. I mostly only get R&D interviews and that's it

I started a new career with Toro Rosso and always chose the last possible placement in a race/qualifying when a contract negotiation came up. This way you dont get thrown out of the contract while simulating the races.

Always simulated the training session, raced in the qualifying for 1st place and hit the wall 2-3 times on that lap and then simulated the race.

20 out of 21 qualifying sessions I got into an interview, where on the first question, I could give one answer for the showman rating. The second question was always about hitting stuff with my car and therefore I just skipped this one.

This took me about 3.5 (very quick) seasons and was by far the most consistent method to trigger questions for the showman rating.

This, along with Cool and Calm, will cost the most time in career this year. You can gain ratings from your answers in interviews that are held after practice sessions, qualifying sessions and races. These ratings positively or negatively impact your team, the development departments or your personal rating as a "sportsman" or "showman". Depending on which trophy you're going for, pick a team that either prefers you to be a "sportsman" or "showman" to not negatively impact your contact negotiations.

The amount of interviews during a race weekend varies from none to three but one or two interviews is the norm. Sometimes you will get an interview after a practice session but these always contain questions that will only impact your development department or team so feel free to skip or simulate the practice sessions. The interviews after the qualifying sessions and races are important though cause these can contain questions which will affect your personal rating. Generally if you want to go for "sportsman" like conduct you will have to praise other drivers (not the team, that will go towards team reputation), while "showman" like conduct means you have to take a dig at other drivers and praise only yourself. There aren’t many different questions so after a while you’ll figure out which answers to give.

To trigger questions that will give progress towards personal ratings, make sure that your “story” rivals Lukas and Devon make it on the podium alongside yourself. Claire the interviewer will always ask one to three questions about your rivals when they do. To achieve this, at the start of the race, block other drivers the likes of Hamilton, Vettel and Verstappen and then catch up with Lukas and/or Devon.

It will take a while to get the maximum rating (around two seasons if you use my method above) and I recommend doing this over 2 different careers for the two different ratings.

I advise you to pay attention to this trophy at the beginning of your career, you need to answer questions that will correspond to the theme of boasting and the like in order to maximize the entertainment rating.

questions asked after practice almost always concern development departments. Questions after qualifying and the race - often the right ones come across.
If by chance you answered the question incorrectly, immediately close the game, download it again and you will find yourself at the beginning of the interview.

so that there are a lot of questions about entertainment, let Lucas or Devon win the race.
If you started to knock out this trophy in a career where you have already leveled up in all seriousness, start a new career, it will be faster.
