How to unlock the Maxing Out achievement in F1 2020 - Definitive Guide
This is a little bugger. The kind of achievement where you don't go for what you think is better, and it can take a while.
In your My Team home menu, toggle to "R&D". You will see 4 sections:
POWERTRAIN (25 Upgrades)
AERODYNAMICS (24 Upgrades)
DURABILITY (29 Upgrades)
CHASIS (23 Upgrades)
Press and it will take you to the Upgrades selection. Purchase an upgrade, and wait for it to be installed (a race weekend is often enough time, sometimes can be two). Note, some WILL fail. This isn't something you have done wrong.
You need Resource Points in order to upgrade, which are available during practice. Complete the Practices as best you can, to get the most Resource Points. Your Teammate's Points also contribute to your total.
You can also get RP from Activites between Race Weekends, so keep an eye out for ones that offer RP.
I'm in my third season, and this just unlocked. I focused on DURABILITY (for obvious reasons), but even though i finished using Resource Points for upgrades, i'm still waiting on a "Future Season" arrival. The same goes for the POWERTRAIN.
I would recommend focusing on AERODYNAMICS, as there were no upgrades i needed to wait for saying "Future Season". Same goes with CHASIS.
Some upgrades require the Facility spec to be a certain level (in the "Facilities" tab), which requires alot of money. You cannot get this achievement with just Resource Points. In addition, you can also upgrade the Facilites to upgrade more than just one (or even two) R&D at a time, again, costing money.
My last upgrade happened during Race Weekend, so this popped up after my race, while i was answering press questions.
Enjoy the Grind

Might be important to note for those going into season two in my Team that regulations might remove some of your upgrades unless you modify them before the end of the season.

I just concentrated on aero upgrades and they all carried over into the 2nd season without needing to do anything such as modifying them

Pump up the aerodynamics department, it pumps up the fastest

You need to upgrade any department in the “Research” section - go to it and click on “Show research tree” . Next, in the window that opens, select any slot and upgrade it. Points for leveling up are obtained by completing free races before the race and completing tasks for them. Plus, your co-pilot also brings you additional points.
