How to unlock the So it Begins achievement in F1 2020 - Definitive Guide

This has to be completed online - On the menu -> Multiplayer -> Ranked.

5 races have to be completed, this can be 5 or 25% races so totally your choice. Once the 5 are completed, regardless of where you finish in each race, you will be awarded a rank. Once you get the rank, the achievement will unlock!

For those that don’t fancy playing the shitshow that is online, you can “sim” the races by pausing as soon as the race starts. The AI will take over and complete a clean race for you!

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇸It's not exactly five races, because I've done more than five races. You just have to keep running until you reach 1850 XP. But if you can get into good positions I think you can win the achievement in the first races

I see people are still completing this, but I just get put into an empty lobby by myself after about two minutes of searching in ranked. Anyone else having issues finding matches?

You need to complete 5 ranked races to unlock this trophy.

Go to Multiplayer > Ranked > and choose the ruleset for 5 Laps for the fastest turnaround.

Standings and safety don't have any bearing on whether you achieve this trophy, you'll be assigned a rank after the 5 races accordingly.
