I'd definitely recommend boosting this achievement in private sessions either with a friend or using another box. The game's multiplayer lobbies are terrible with regular hangups, AFKs, and just plain old horrible/offensive drivers. If you DNF for any reason, you do not get credit for the race. You will save yourself dozens of hours by not using the public lobbies.
