there are four achievements like this, so the way i worked around it was deciding which engine i wanted to play my actual career with, and saving that for last.

from the menu, to Career, select Single Player Career, and then choose My Team.

choose any entry point (only caring about your actual career mode), and then go through the settings as you wish and start the career.

create your character or just advance through all the customisation.

select Mercedes as your power unit supplier and continue on.

win your first race at Bahrain and the achievement is yours
