I got the heated status in a ratings rivalry by taking too long to get to the required rating, so I'm going to start the next season by trying to start another championship rivalry and dragging it out by not quite beating the rival as it appears the longer the rivalry lasts the more heated it gets, I won it the first time to get the championship rival trophy out of the way and it's going to make the accolades take a bit longer due to scoring less points trying to engineer the closeness of the championship rivalry, hope this helps
