How to unlock the The Gladiator achievement in Fable II - Definitive Guide

This achievement is actually very easy with a reasonably high level Will user.

Arrange your spells like this...
Level 1, 2 & 5: Time Control
Level 3 & 4: Inferno

The Time Control spells slow the main game clock as well as the action so you want to spend the entire fight in slo-mo.

The level 1 & 2 Time Control allows you a quick cast so you can charge up the full level 5 spell.

Once everything grinds to a halt run to the middle of the enemies and unleash your level 3 or 4 Inferno (indirect only) spells to incenerate everything. If there's any left over that are out of range use a decent ranged weapon ("Red Dragon" pistol).

Keep a look out for the flitswitches and grab those as quick as you can. For the red ones just use your Inferno (indirect only) when close enough, you'll get the switch and a few kills. You should look to get around a 9x multiplier but you may as well aim to pick up the 10x achievement.

If you're worried about health just add the "Ghoul Augment" to your favourite weapons. This will drain the life from enemies and add it to your own.

This tactic works for all rounds with one tiny exception: The Banshee. Time your Inferno spell right to take out all minions, then use a directed Inferno to inflict the most damage to the Banshee. A few shots from a decent range weapon should finish it off before the second set of minions.

I've only played this level twice and got c26,000 (9x) and c31,000 (10x) with NO chickens. Add a chicken suit and kick a few of them and the score may be higher, I'll confirm this when I've done it.

Looks like you got them both at the same time. Maybe it's just not very good with the feedback :-s

That worked great for me, thanks! Scored just under 29,000 and nabbed 9x bonus.

I just got this one with a slight variation on Xebu's method. I set my spells to Time Control (1, 2, 3) and Inferno (4, 5). Tap a quick Time Control whenever you go back to normal time to give yourself enough time to cast a level 3 Time Control. Then, clear as much as you can with a Level 5 Inferno.

As soon as you hear there's a flip switch, slow time and head straight for it. Don't kill anything on the way, because you'll get more points for killing them after.

Ended up with 34,000.

Using this method I was able to get a 23X multiplier and 110,000 points with no chickens.

also if people are having problems getting knocked out, resurrection phials let you get back up without decreasing your multiplier. This works will for the 10x multiplier achievement as well, because you get knocked around a lot looking for the flit things.

excellent solution, i'm not good at the combat but still managed over 40k on my second attempt with the small time slow/big time slow/big damage mechanic :)

I did a variation: 1 lightning, 2-3 time control, 4 inferno, 5 time.

It got the job done. smile

To all this I would add that you should have plenty of resurrection phials. Those are used automatically and worst case scenario if you die multiplier does not go back to x1.

Contrary to Ansarum, this is incredibly easy to obtain. I gained this, The Multiplicator and The Combatant in my first time fighting in the arena.

Similarly to what Xebu said a high will user will be able to gain this with little to no difficulty and just remember to use the combat multipliers whenever possible.

Set your spells 1/5 as Lightning, 2-4 as Time Control and you're all set.

Use level 1 Lightning for magic targets if you can't be bothered to wait until you use a charged level 5. And hit the other two flit switches in accordance.

The basic strategy you'll follow will be to slow time down immediately once you enter the colliseum (do 2 then 4 if you wish to) and then continuously chain Time control 3-4 with level 5 Lightning. With a little bit of practice (and I mean very little) you shouldn't ever exit Slow motion and I finished this on my first time with 47856 points.

Then if you wish to gain the other two as well, (you should gain the multiplicator) and the Necromancer dies in around 7 melee hits. Just stay in slo mo and melee him once every time he appears.

Man...I can't believe I never thought about using continuous Time Control in this battle. Makes ALL the difference.

COMBAT MULTIPLIERS ARE KEY

you have to be fast at killing enemies and reaching combat multipliers... once the announcer says there is a flitswitch rotate your camera 360 till you find it still fighting then work your way to hitting it as quick as you can then going back to the fight. Chickens are also a major role so if you have the chicken suit wear it before entering because it will spawn more chickens.

THIS IS A HARD ACHIEVEMENT TO GET i have a "complete" character max strength, skill, will and the Dachi along with a master flintlock rifle with 4 augments including a ghoul augment and i got just over 20,000

when you have over 20,000 spire gaurds should be your main enemy along with the comondaunt wannabes that shoot the lines of spikes

if you are weaker then perfect your going to need a henchman for this achievement.
