How to unlock the The Ruler of Albion achievement in Fable II - Definitive Guide
IN SHORT:
Buy whatever buildings you can find, and if you're strugling, start redecorating houses with better furniture.
Definitely make sure you've bought:
- Graveyard Mansion (Bowerstone Cemetery - you will have to complete the 'Love Hurts' quest to unlock this building for purchase)
- Reaver's Mansion (Bloodstone)
- Fairfax Castle (Fairfax gardens)
- Brightwood Tower (Brightwood)
IN FULL:
I had quite a bit of trouble with this achievement, even after buying every building I could find, including the graveyard mansion, bloodstone mansion, fairfax castle and brightwood tower.
It may have been the terrible economy in most towns due to my regular thieving and murderous rampages, but the way I nudged my real estate worth over 2.5 million was to redecorate some of my properties with the most expensive furnitures I could buy. Considering the number of houses that can be redecorated, this achievement becomes easy with a few trips to the furniture shop.
Obviously this assumes you can afford things in the first place, but aquiring money isn't very difficult. Purchasing shops and buildings (provided you rent them wherever possible) will earn you money every five minutes, even when you aren't playing (although this will only be 10% of what you would earn if you were in game) and if you don't mind being corrupt, you can increase prices and rent by as much as an extra 100%. If you don't mind cheating a bit either, you can change your xbox system clock.
To do this, ensure you're disconnected from xbox live (live automatically sets your clock to the correct time) and head to 'System Settings' in the 'My Xbox' row of the dashboard, select 'Console Settings' and move down to 'Clock'. Hit 'A' and you can set the 'Date and Time' (this is where you must be disconnected from xbox live, or the option will be unavailable). Here you can simply set the date as far forward as your console will allow, which for me was the 31st December 2025. Return to Fable II, and within a few minutes, you should have a nice lump of cash. Save the game and you can carry on as usual. If you want to earn even more money, set the clock all the way back (mine went to the 1st January 2005), enter Fable, save your game, then put the clock forward as far as possible, and return to Fable, and you should instantly gain 20 years worth of earnings. Nice! With most of the real estate, this method bagged me over 2mil in one go.
Then simply ensure you've bought as many buildings as you can find, and provided your economies are stable, you should get 100G. Remember that if you're struggling to reach 2.5 mil real estate, upgrading furniture is an easy way to do it. I only had to partly redecorate three houses (partly due to the limited availability of some furniture items) before the achievement popped up. Hopefully you'll have it in no time too.

Your method of adjusting the xbox clock is very interesting, and sounds quite effective. Well spotted, and an over-all nice solution. +1

it works the same if you adjust it by one year, as the out of game income is capped at 100 times your income in game.

Just buy every building you see. After finishing the game a one high priced building in particular will be available that will be worth 1000. It helps to rent out your buildings after you buy them and if you aren't worried about being corrupt just increase all rent and prices to 100%. You will accumulate wealth in no time (even while you are not playing the game and the xbox is shut off, albeit 10% of what you would get if you were playing) which in turn will help you buy more.

As Khimarhi points out simply buy every piece of property you see throughout the game. After you beat the main story line you can purchase Reaver's mansion for nearly 90,000 gold and then you can buy Fairfax Castle in the Fairfax Gardens for 1,000,000 gold.
With all the property in the game without upgrading their furniture you should be worth about 2.59 Million in real estate. This is only after you buy Reaver's mansion and Fairfax Castle and if you choose the "good path" and don't raise the rent.
I have also read/heard that you can make money by disconnecting from Xbox Live and setting the clock on your Xbox 1 year in advance... although I have not confirmed this. I don't see the point in doing this but I can see how some achievement mongers would like to know it :-p

I got this achievement on my first play through the game. From the start of the game Buy as much Houses and Shops as possible. Rent them out and when you run out of money simply do some Quests or the main storyline. Again when you come to new places buy as much as you can and raise all prices and rent. I however did have a problem with this because I had 2.3M Gold when I had everything. The reason being is because there is one building in the game that you may or may not be able to buy. If you completed the quests earlier on in the game with Pureness then you should be able to buy it. The location is Miles Farm in Brightwood btw. If you are not able to buy this house then simply Purchase the Knothole Isl. DLC and buy the new buildings that come with it andafter buying the last one you should the Pop of Pride. (Achievement Unlocked 100G The Ruler of Albion) Well Done!
Relatively easy if you don't mind being "corrupt" for a while. I've found the easiest way to get started is buying weapons from the blacksmith in Bowerstone Market and selling to weapons traders in the affluent Fairfax Gardens. You can gradually buy more weapons at greater prices.
As you progress through the game you will get access to more expensive weapons, and as you find more blacksmiths and weapon traders you can take advantage of sales and shortages to gain even more gold.
Then when you have enough money you can start buying shops, homes etc. and jack up the prices and rent. Your money will grow even when your offline.

I got this achievement by buying every single house I encountered... this was possible from setting the Xbox clock to 2005, then starting a new savegame offline. Once I amassed enough money to buy a selection of houses I would save, quit out of the game, and move the clock a year forward (Money in fable develops in real time) Once I returned to the game, the next rent money was big enough for me to buy a lot more houses (and Inns, great step in making more money) Once i was happy with the amount I'd bought I went further through the story, making sure to invest with barnum for the extra properties you can buy returning from the spire, and making sure to save the farm in brightwood. Returning from the spire I quit, put it a year forward and saved again. Did another binge and yeah... buy all you can until you run out of money, cheat a massive yearly lump-sum and then carry on.
You get the picture, eventually you'll get the achievement :)

It's Simple ... Heres what you need to do in less than 3 sentences. BUY all property including all market stands; then purchase the Temple of Light (or) Temple of Darkness -THEN you'll get it -Promise ya !!!

My advice is to start buying properties early on in the game. This will give you a slow, but sure source of income as well as help you amass your real estate empire. When you can, buy the temple of light/darkness and all of the castles/mansions as well. If you don't care if you are good or bad just crank the price you charge each place all the way up. Getting your good back isn't very hard, just drop it all the way down for a time until everyone is happy again after you get your achievement.
At the end of the story choose wealth and buy quite expensive properties. EG: Bloodstone Mansion. Your wealth should accumulate quite quickly through rent. Another way to get rich quickly is first make sure you are signed out of xbox live. Go to the dashboard and put your date forward 1 month.( This does not work while signed in to xbox live as xbox live automatically fixes your time and date ) Start Fable and you will receive one months worth of rent. ( The maximum you can recieve at one time ) This can be repeated any number of times to maximise your wealth
To unlock this one, everything you own must have a value of 2.5 million gold. Buy everything you see, and never forget to buy the bigger properties, such as the castle and other unique buildings. If you need money, you can buy a couple of houses with the money that you have, and then rent them out. Save the game, dashboard, alter the date on the console so it's 5 years in the future. Load up the game and you'll have loads of money.

I've helped 100+ unique players with achievements in Fable II and I have no intention in stopping. Players join my game, and I will unlock the achievement within a very short period of time after you've joined. The procedure is swift and requires nothing from you except that you have both of the DLCs installed. This can be either the free versions or the premium ones.
As long as this achievement is up, I'm offering the help. Simply send me a friend request, and a message stating the reason you've added me, and I'll help you the next time I'm free. Please don't send me messages asking me when you can get help, as I always keep in mind my "businesses" and I won't forget about you. And because my friends list is set to only have certain people, I can therefore not keep you on my friends list, unless we've agreed that I will.

Simply mass a "real estate empire". Easier than it sounds and the best way to get gold fast in Fable 2. Basically, what you need to do is buy and rent out every piece of architecture you can get your hands on; whether you up or lower the rent is up to you. Obviously if you up it, you'll get rich quicker and be able to expand quicker, BUT you'll be a evil, corrupt character.
Buying and renting is a great way to get a regular income of money and simply going to bed at night while your Xbox rests earns rent as well. So simply, buy, rent out and expand. It should not take you ALL the property in Albion for this achievement, but chances are, you'll need the castle because it's worth a million.
To check your current real estate value, go to Start > Logbook > Stats and scroll down some.
Significant Places to Buy:
*Fairfax Castle - After the game is complete.
*Cemetery Mansion - After the "Love Hurts" mission.
*Father Gile's Farm (Brightwood) - After the "Blind Date" mission.
*Garth's Tower - Sometime later on in the game.
*Reaver's House - After the game is complete.
