In Bowerstone Market, my trail goes dead when trying to find "The Invocation of the Watcher". Any idea where this actually is?

I meant in Bowerstone Old Quarter. The trail leads me from Brightwall to Bowerstone Old Quarter, then the trial goes dead. No love.

PLEASE? I just need a decent description of where someone actually found this book, there is NO description on this guide, probably because my gold trail is supposed to lead me to it. I can't move on without it!

It's in bowerstone old quarter in a cellar near where you spawn at. I'm having trouble initiating the gift wood for driftwood quest. Where And how do you start it?

Figured it out, in the basement of the Throbnikkle mansion or whatever in Bowerstone Old Quarter, access from the side of the building. Play a game with the target in the back, will open up a bookshelf in the front of the basement, there's the book.

thats happening to me as well :( There's supposed to be a prerequisite quest, called "Special Delivery" but I can't find that either

By Aesiwatt on 01 Nov 2010 18:15
Special Delivery is a quest that becomes avaiable after you do "Leaders and Followers" which is main story quests, which has you gaining the trust of Sabine' at the Dweller's Camp.

To do Special Delivery you need to talk to Mrs. Tibbins who says she find something intresting and asks you to take it to Saul at the Academy. The only way I can see you missing this is if you killed Saul/Mrs. Tibbins or you game is glitch. Either of those happen, just start over. It sucks, but main story can be done in 5 hours if you rush and getting all the book is another 1, using this guide or whatever takes your fancy.

I can't do anything more to help.

Ok, I managed to get the quest to spawn finally :) I just did a bunch of quests such as the marriage one where u have to help the guy get a divorce, and the Catch a Criminal quest in Millfields. This for some reason, got the quest to appear.

I went through all the books I have in the library and they don't match up with the locations given here.

For example, I'm missing Old King Oswald, but I'm behind the golden door in the Ossuary, and there is no book here on the railing. Can only assume I've picked up the book that was here and it didn't match.

Anybody else having books spawn in different places than the ones given on this list?

The King Oswald book location is described slightly inaccurately. It isn't behind the gold door, it is beyond the gold door if you remain on the same stone balcony that the door branches off of. It is past the next pillar, and on the balcony on the right overlooking some of the area that you can't walk past.

I also had the problem with the "Special Delivery" quest. I only had 5 quests available, two which I had to kill some guys, the gnome one and the book one. The last one I had was "The Missing Child" which I had been to lazy to do. I did it, and then the quest "Special Delivery" unlocked, for anyone else experiencing the same I suggest doing as many quests as you can.

Okay, so if the island bugs and you can't get the book, you will NOT be able to complete the book achievement by following another hero as he collects all the books. just tried it. Might as well start a new game, or wait for the patch. DO NOT zone without holding the NPC's hand once you start "An Island Getaway." He will disappear, and NOT come back!

Is it possible to walk past a book and not be able to get it again? Or are you free to grab the books at your own leisure?

Is it just me or do you encounter an unusual number of game-freezes doing this achievement?

I had the game freeze (while saving!!!!) every single time when delivering one of the final 3 'special quest books' ... got an heart attack every single time i saw it freeze while saving (thank god nothing happened!!!)

Couple corrections:
It's Reaver's Manor, not Manon
Location: Room on the left by the windows on a table. No stair climbing is required once inside the building.

Solid guide but from what I can tell, you can't complete this achievement before beating the game. The book "Liver of Darkness" can not be picked up until after the mission Hobbnobbing with Hobbes is completed. According to multiple sites I've checked, that mission won't appear until after you have defeated the game. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, I've also done Special Delivery and I think I've done Missing Child (it's not on my quest list). An Ancient Key still isn't showing up for me. I've tried sleeping for multiple days and traveling other places.

Very helpful list to find out which books I was still missing and where to look for them. Most of the time the directions were sufficient, just once or twice I looked up a video of the missing book.

Great solution with detail. Just to note that the Hobnobbing with Hobbes quest (provides Liver of Darkness book) doesn't not appear until you beat the final boss of the game. Therefore, you cannot complete this achievement until you beat the game.

I used 360addictsRUs' videoguide.
No jumps or cuts in the entire guide. Really helpfull !

The first 25 are pure collectabels, where the last five is missions given from Sam the librarian.
You get the first mission after 5 books, the second after 10, the third after 15, the fourth after 20 and the last after you've collected 29.
If you follow this guide, you should have no problems at all !

I just got 10 books, but my quest description didn't change; I can't talk to Sam to get the fetch quest for the 2nd special book; is it supposed to be 10 in total or 10 not counting the book I had the specific quest for after I collected 5 books?

I really can't remember. Its been quite some time since i played it. I think i collected the 25 first and then started on the missions, but I'm a little unsure.

I think my guess was right; I grabbed 2 more books, and after I placed the 11th I got the quest to talk to Sam the Librarian. I'm just afraid something glitched and I won't be able to get the final quest after I place the 29th book

If you mean the videos then he clearly states that the videos are made by 360addictsRUs don't see nothing wrong with that, had he tried to hide the fact or claim they were his own then sure but posting a video guide that isn't yours is perfectly fine (as long as you state so) after all not every one that post guides on YT are gonna bother posting them here on TA & pretty sure that the videos get the views count no matter where you watch it besides I for one prefer the video player on YT compared to the TA one since it has the +10sec dbl tap feature that's hard to live without on mobile ... Finally in this case the YT channel haven't posted a video in almost 10yrs so I'm gonna go out on a limb & say that they probably don't care smile

First if you have gotten a bunch or even a few of these books and don't know which ones you're missing, each title is always in the same place in the room and also the same location in the game so if you know which ones you need it makes it a lot easier. They appear clockwise, starting as you enter the room from the left, around to the right.
Here is the list of books in order:

01. How To Be A Crack Shot
02. How To Be A Master Swordsman
03. The Amazing Exploits of Baron Barnaby Beadle
04. Alchemy and Immortality
05. Adventure Quest: A select Your Own Endeavour book
06. Famous Kings of History: King Cedric
07. Famous Kings of History: Old King Oswald
08. Famous Kings of History: Markus Ivy
09. The Mibbs-Spagno Theory of Gluttony
10. The Extraordinary Homunculus of Baron von Orfen
11. Attack of the Killer Puffins
12. Liver of Darkness
13. Dangerous Things: Lightning
14. Dangerous Things: Stargazing in Remote Areas
15. Dangerous Things: Ladders
16. Dangerous Things: Industrial Machinery
17. Dangerous Things: Gunpowder
18. The Very Unsafe Book for Boys Vol. 1: Hang Gliding
19. The Very Unsafe Book for Boys, Vol 2: Ovens
20. The Very Unsafe Book for Boys Vol. 3: Boxing
21. Famous Killers: Xavier Smedley
22. Famous Killers: Terence Posture
23. Famous Killers: Carl Tendency
24. A Tyranny of Tyrants
25. Grasping Avarice of Kings and Their Lackeys
The last 5 you get from quests from the Librarian. Here are those titles if you want to know, they are in the second room.
1. A Book of Mysteries
2. The Pangs of Sunset
3. The Book of Doom
4. Reaver on Reaver
5. The Invocation of the Watchers
This link will show you a picture of where each book is in the game:
http://www.gamesradar.com/fable-3-books-guide/
This link says what book is where.
http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/Rare_Book_Locations
For a video guide, these is the ones I like the best.
The easiest way to get them is to get all the books, or at least 10 at a time and then deliver them. It's much easier than going back and forth.

There is one thing that I would like to point out that is not correct with the wiki link; it doesn't show the books in the right order, nor with the right names of the books.
It gets really confusing.
Just to let the people know who are currently trying to find the books: don't use the wiki link! It's been totally missunderstood.
