Fable III

This achievement is fairly simple to obtain however you must be sure you are committed since it has potentially long ranging effects on your characters world. In order to unlock this achievement you must be playing with another XBox live character. For the sake of argument I will use character 'A' and character 'B' to describe the process.

A and B are both friends on XBox live. Both players have started a character in Fable 3. A and B decide to play together, B decides to join A's world as a "Henchman". This is fairly similar to the system in Fable 2 for those who are familiar with it, it is just much better designed. A invites B into their world, after a brief load screen B enters A's world as a "Henchman". This allows them to quest with A, interact with Albion's people, buy and sell items and pretty much do most anything they would normally do in the game.

In order to get Married you are required to own a house, which can't be done until you purchase the "Landlord Chest" from the Road to Rule. This requires 2 Guild Seals (currency for chests) and requires the Hero to have successfully retrieved the treasure from the Brightwood Village Reliquary, located in the library. This is one of the earliest quests in the game, and is essentially the "Training Quest" as this is where you receive your melee and ranged weapons.

Once you have purchased your fine new home, Hero A can use the "A" button while standing next to Hero B to interect with them. In the interaction menu you have a couple of options. Hero A should see an option to press "RB" to propose marraige to Hero B.

Hero B then has the option to accept or reject the proposal. Once Hero B accepts the proposal Hero A then needs to select a wedding home for the couple from the overhead map. After selecting a home Hero A must select the type of wedding they want, the different weddings cost different amounts depending on how fancy you want the wedding to be.

After selecting this enjoy your wedding cutscene, your achievement unlock and hopefully many happy years of joy!

Things to note: A marriage is a legally binding contract in Albion, getting married shares all monetary wealth and property, both current and future, with your spouse. Please get married responsibly :)

P.S. Only Hobos get married for free in the street. 400 Gold is not that much to immortalize the happiest day of your life.

*** A couple replies to some comments. According to another posted solution you cannot get married locally. This appears to be supported by the wording the it must be done over XBox Live. Secondly yes you could just get divorced right after however depending on whether you are doing it for fun or just for the achievement will affect that decision.

One thing I have discovered is that you can't do this locally with another person, it has to be over XBox Live. I got married to my girlfriend ingame with both of us playing on the same XBox and the achievement didn't pop. So it definitely has to be over XBox Live even if you do it locally with two XBox Live accounts.
