If you choose all the good options you leave your treasury with a defecit of -2,400,000 gold. Meaning you need a total of 8,900,000 gold of your personal gold to gain the achievement.

If you choose all evil options you will have 3,950,000 gold in the treasury after all is said and done meaning you need 2,550,000 of personal gold to gain the achievement.

Keep in mind the gold you need to transfer into the treasury MUST be transferred before you decide on Protection for Aurora. It reads on load screen as 121 Days Until Attack but this is the last opportunity to get the gold you need in. So depending on if you went all good or all evil (or somewhere in between) make sure you go to the treasury prior to ruling on Protection for Aurora and Fate of Mistpeak and transfer whatever you need to reach the 6,500,000 gold from the personal gold part of the treasury ledger.

A great source of income is going to the Demon Door in Sunset House after you have become King or Queen. The reward is 1,000,000 gold. If you have managed to collect all 50 silver keys you can unlock the chest at the Bowerstone Castle for 2,000,000 gold. Other than that upgrade your job skills in Road to Rule to level 5 and work work work.

You can also get the Corronation Chicken achievement if you wear the chicken outfit you can aquire by buying or completing the Chicken Chaser quest during one of your rulings.

Alternatively you could buy up a tonne of Real Estate and just leave the game on overnight (with a wired controller, or the rubberband trick to make your hero run in circles)

Great guide.

However - you can't get the 50 silver key chest at Bowerstone Castle open until after you finish the main story - since you can't get the two keys in Dankwater Cavern without doing the 'Hobnobbing with Hobbes' quest, and this doesn't appear until after you finish the main story (at least it didn't in my game).

Other than that, rent and business profits are the way to do this, buying every single property in the game will get you income of circa $100k every 5 minutes (hike the prices at the pawnshops and bars to boost this a bit). So buy up as much as you can as early as you can, basically.

If you hike up the prices for just the business profits, you can make a bit over 50k every five minutes without leaving the mainland.

Im thinking of doing this achievement on my second playthrough by hooking up a second controller and gifting myself like.... 5 million gold form my main character to my new one.

I just got to the "point of no return". I followed this guide to know how to get the achievement.
I was just curious and tried to transfer gold from my personal account to the treasury AFTER deciding on Protection of Aurora. And it is still possible. Even after entering the portal you can "pause" your game and can still transfer the money. And your still earning money from houses and shops.
So the true "point of no return" is right before you enter the portal on the road to rule.

Just to clarify. Nice guide though :-)

According to this guide if you perform ALL of the options that will get money into your treasury it will net you $5,350,000.

Just in case you'd like to add that.

Nice guide, my girlfriend is playing the game as a "nice" queen, so I guess she'll have to make a LOT of gold.

Ok, so do you have to have the 6mill+ if you already have the 8.9 mil and have spent it on the good decisions?

Great Guide m8!!

Just got this yesterday and nearly missed it for the second time, so i just wanted to double-clarify what bemod said... i even logged in my flatmates account to transfer the last of the fund before going into the portal to the road to rule after the aurora/dweller camp decisions.

In relation to the comments regarding estates etc. you -can- actually leave your xbox on over night as a quick cheap way to getting the money. If you were to sleep for 8 hours, or leave it for 8 hours, and your character collects 32k per 5 minutes (Will go down due to repairs not being made to houses etc.), there's 240 sets of 5 minutes in 8 hours, meaning 32k*240= 7,680,000 made over night. But of course remember, this is the cheap way of doing it.

Whilst you can transfer the money after deciding the Fate of Mistpeak, it's much more safer to make sure you've transferred it before this.

so does it matter if you choose good or evil as far as rulings go?

You might want to add that you can maintain Logans's policies on child benefit with no impact on the treasury.

I've not finished making all the royal decisions yet (Just made the decision regarding the fate of the factory) and instead of going to the throne room as advised, I've decided to do some quests. The loading screen informs me that there is still a year until the attack and this has not changed despite many day/night cycles passing in the game. I've been making the money required in this time, buying property etc

I've not played for long enough to fully confirm this, but it might be worth noting.

I'm surprised that people need to resort to leaving their box on overnight in order to make enough money as a good character. As ruler I only made the 'good' choices, bought as much real estate as I could, then turned the rent/profit up to high and kept playing as normally, doing side quests and the like.

With all the houses and businesses in Albion bought I was making something like $100,000 every five minutes. I'd guess it took me maybe 8 hours, from the time I became monarch until the point of no return, to get enough money for the cheevo and to have plenty left over. Meanwhile, there was more than enough to do in-game so I never had to sit and wait for the money.

I just want to add a late note. I made my final judgement and went through the portal, and right as I entered the room where Walter tells you the darkness is here, I sprinted to my treasury and was able to go to my sanctuary and add/earn in enough money to hit the 6+ million. I then returned upstairs and the achievement popped once Walter stopped talking. So there is a last second chance, but you need to be quick!

I went online to get the "Cross-Dimensional Conception" achivement.
I have choosen to be a princess and i've dressed the character just with underware (just a detail). At the begining of the story i went online and i've found a king. He had 500k of gold. I suposed i liked my style :) We had sex and a child, after that I ASKED FOR THE DIVORCE and he accepted. With that decision, half of his gold was mine. Then i returned to single player mode where i can buy all the houses or shops available. Like i said this was at the begining. I belive i will have enough when needed to save the citizens.

I know this is a late comment considering most people have finished this game by now but I was wondering if the "mood" or "status" of most citizens matter? There are a few citizens that are "friends" with my character but others have a status that says "fine" or "neutral". I even let my game run while I did stuff around the house and came back and one of my wives wanted a divorce. I have made all "good" decisions but I was wondering if the citizens walking around had to be "happy" with me b4 I move on and make the last few rulings.

Also, does it matter if you choose "your significant other" at the very beginning of the game or if you choose the citizens? i executed the citizens so I am wondering if I am screwed?

By Rowdawg88 on 06 Feb 2013 16:10
Nvm, I got it last night. Villagers had all sorts of statuses ("fine" "friends" "hate" etc) and I got the achievement. Also, the choice at the beginning of the game does not bear any weight for this achievement as I chose "my significant other" (causing villagers to be executed) and I still got the cheevo. I guess the only 2 things that matter are 1) making good choices AFTER you become king and 2) have lots of money in the treasury. Great guide!

Just wanted to share that you CAN earn this with a friend! I was married to her though, so whether that's the reason why we earned it together is uncertain.

time only passes when you finish the kings tasks for a 'day' and report it. As long as you don't go in and report then you can sleep, eat and be merry(or explore, make money, get married etc) to your hearts content!

You'll see it when you do complete the final task for a day it'll jump from like day 5 to day 37 to day 121 etc etc.(those aren't exact :P )

Surely it's worth noting how much gold is needed (minimum and maximum) before going to the throne room for the last time. Minimum: 6,100,000; maximum: 6,850,000.

got it on my first play-through. with 121 days to go I bought every building/business I could buy in all places, repaired every time, raised rent to max, then let it sit idle for less than 3 hours. I went from less than 1 million - 8 million in gold in the bank when I returned. kept all my promises to my friends as well. also dressed as a chicken for my final ruling while I was at it. thanks for the guide it helped a lot.

So how much money am I actually putting in to the treasury? I had 9 million gold and a deficit of 1,650,000. My treasury balance is now 5,350,000, am I good to go?

Perfect guide! For my luck, when I reached this point of the story, I had almost 23,000,000.00 in my personal treasure. I transfered 8,500,000.00 for kingdom treasure and because of this I colud pick all good choices with no issues.

If anyone want to go with the glitchy way, I found that creating a society with the second controller and then gifting do weird things with money, It reduces to half every time you enter the gift menu, then save with main account and the money is back with the secoundary. But as I said it does weird things, I went to 0 a couple of times...

Im sure people are aware of this already but heres some help:

Once you Become King or Queen, you"ll have choices to make. If you decide to be all good it will be harder to save all 6.5 million people but it is possible.

1. Make sure from early on in game you do some jobs to earn money. I found it easy to be a pie maker in Brightwall Village. Saved some money and started buying homes to rent in Dwellers Camp.

2. With Rent coming in, continue to buy up as much property as you can. Dont waste it on weapons or potions as you will dig them up or find in treasure chests.

3. I started with Dwellers Camp then moved on Brightwall Village, Bowerstone Industrial, and Bowerstone Market.

4. Buy up the houses first then move onto the blacksmiths and pubs. you have more income coming in buying all the cheap stuff first, then dumping a large amount on stores.

5. Once you are King or Queen there is a demon door in the Sunset house area ( access through mourningwood ) that has a 1,000,000 gold for the new ruler of Albion.

6. Once the " Meet The Wealthy Patron In Millfields " is available STOP. DO NOT DO THIS QUEST. FROM THIS POINT ON THERE IS NO RETURN TO EARN MORE MONEY.

7. Start doing other side quests and collecting rent . At this point the best thing to own is pawn shops. You can roam and collect as long as you need. As long as you dont start " Meet The Wealthy Patron In Millfields ".

8. you will need to have 8.5 MILLION in gold in personal funds to get the " Tough Love " 10 point Achievement.

Have Fun. .. it can be done... If you need Help send me a FR

I went berserk at the abrupt ending. A warning would have been nice but I was trying to avoid forums due to spoilers. They could have at least said something to the extent of, "Hey, tomorrow's the big day. You should tie up any loose ends before s**t utterly hits the fan." I guess that was just too hard for the folks over at Lionhead or maybe they had budget cuts and had to 86 unnecessary warning cinematics. The DLC better be freaking amazing to compensate.

i bought everything (houses and shops) before i went to bed i made all my houses 100% and about five hours later without raising the rent prices i got 7 million and the homes were at 25% damage. i dont know what would happen if you let it go for 8 hours but that worked. Be sure to have your guy running around, i used the rubberband trick. this helps if you wanna be good

Good advice, especially the Wealth Patron quest. I avoided completing even my 'first day' as queen and quested around to make $. Had the 8.5 and was fine - just donated everything to the Treasury, kept all my promises, and was good throughout.

Just to be clear though, "Meet the Wealthy Patron in Millfields" is NOT the point of no return.

You can happily go right up until the '121 days to go' point and then just work for the money then (DON'T enter the throne room). At this point, you will need $6.5m in the Treasury to save the citizens, plus maybe a bit more depending on whether you decide to build the fort in Aurora ($350k) and hand Mistpeak over to Sabine ($50k). I had $7m in the Treasury before going to rule on these two decisions and that was enough.

You can meet the wealthy patron, after that you have 121 days left.. Aslong as you get the 6.5 mil in before you decide mistpeaks future you're fine. If anything the wealthy patron quest gives you a little cash boot..

best thing to do is buy all shops as soon as you can, so you earn the millions while playing towards the end of the game... I also recommend to only buy shops, not houses, since house need to be repaired and don't give as much profit as shops, don't forget to raise the rent to 100%

If you get to the last day without the proper amount of gold you can just stand in the treasury room before entering the final portal. I was $400,000 short but your properties will still bring in money at this time as long as you don't enter The Road to Rule. Then when you have the 6.5 million enter the portal to initiate the final mission.

This might sound dumb but i failed this acheivement because of the time it takes too transfer money from personal to treasury, I simply could not be bothered and I thought i had a few days game time to do this then it throws me into defending against the attack. Anyone know how to transfer quicker?

The easiest way I found to do this is. Let your character sit as king anywhere and let time go by, you will create gold from the businesses you own, then purchase more, continue purchasing all the property possible and then just leave you character AFK for an entire night, you will wake up finding around 10 million gold. Ding ding. Just don't do all the tasks until you have more then enough money, no time goes by until you do some of the agenda for the day as the king.

Some of you may already be aware of this, but just to bring it up to those who don't know...
If you are having trouble amassing that ridiculous amount of gold but still need this achievement, just have a friend do it! Yep. As long as they have the correct amount of money and you join their game BEFORE they decide on the protection of Aurora (121 days remaining), sit through it for a bit and the achievement will pop for you too!
I know that this works because I just did this last night. I hope this helps some of you!

It doesn't matter what decisions you pick, you just need to have 6.5 million gold in the treasury after your last decision. Either way, you'll also need to donate money to have enough. I recommend buying buildings and earning rent until you have 10 million gold before you defeat Logan. That's enough to cover any combination of choices.
