How to unlock the Doesn't Play Well with Others achievement in Fallout 3 - Definitive Guide

If you're planning on getting the DLC then Operation Anchorage is an easy way to top up on the human kills. It might be a simulation but it's chock full of humans and they all count.

Update: Operation Anchorage is also available as part of the Fallout 3: Game of the Year edition.

First quest location details (credit to fallout.wikia.com):
Operation: Anchorage will be activated by a radio broadcast stating, "This is Defender Morrill, any Outcasts listening on this frequency report to sector 7-B, Bailey's Crossroads. This is a high-priority message, backup is needed at our location. Any personnel listening on this frequency please report at once." A marker will appear on the world map near the Red Racer Factory.

Save your game, then clear out every main town available (Megaton, Rivet City, Arefu etc...) and you should be able to net this.

Do not go to the Citadel unless you are really desparate though haha

You'll get this over a long period of time. Raiders, Enclave, people from the various abandoned vaults, the Regulators/Talon Company Mercs, Operation Anchorage DLC... it'll all slowly accumulate, so just be patient and keep playing through the game. If you have Broken Steel, you'll be able to get more kills after the main game ends. And by that, I mean you'll be able to explore more and participate in more quests that lead to you getting more kills.

I finished the game last night with over 600 people killed and I mainly went for achievements so you'll definitely just get this over time.

If you have the Operation Anchorage DLC this will be an easy achievement to get. Just play the DLC and if you dont get the achievement go to Megaton, and or Rivet City save then kill everybody possible until you get the achievement. You can also just wander around and find Raiders. Point Lookout will also be an easy spot to get the achievement as the first part of it all you can do is help Desmond kill all the Tribals when they start to barge in the mansion. There will also be Creepers, Brawlers, etc..

If like me you have earned all the other achievements but still have not hit 300 people kills then I have a solution for you.

Every 72 hours (3 days) in-game time enemies outside respawn, they also respawn inside the Bethesda ruins. You can press the back button to wait but you cannot be in the area you want the enemies to respawn when waiting.

My methods

1.Bethesda Ruins - 16 enemies (7 outside, 5 west ruins & 4 east ruins)
Fast travel here and kill all enemies outside and inside. Be careful because of the enemy in the rusted bus with the hunting rifle and the enemy up a level on a building with a sniper rifle. These two can take your health down quick so make sure to use V.A.T.S and pop stimpacks. Once that is done fast travel to Agatha’s house (or any other safe location), skip 3 days and head right back to Bethesda ruins. Rinse and repeat. Each full cycle of time skip and killing should be around 5-6 mins.

2. Similar strategy to the one above but you can make use of a few other locations so you don’t spend so much time waiting.
Bethesda Ruins - 16 enemies (7 outside, 5 west ruins & 4 east ruins)
MDPL Mass relay station - 3 enemies
Evergreen mills - 4 enemies (all outside)
Springvale school - 3 enemies (all outside)
Same caution rules apply to Bethesda ruins but the other ones have no problems. Fast travel to a safe location, wait and then rinse repeat with killing and waiting. This full cycle will take about 10 mins.

I used a badly damaged plasma rifle for all my kills. Was a 2 shot kill to the head with V.A.T.S.

Hope this guide helps.

Across the main campaign, side quests and DLC, you should come across more than enough Enclave soldiers, raiders and Talon Company mercs to cover this achievement.

However, if you are coming up short, try going to the Talon Companies HQ at Fort Bannister. Talon mercs also are regularly at Smith Casey's garage when you fast travel there.

This should come naturally but if it doesn't then farm Kaelyn's Bed & Breakfast (Southeast of Arefu and Southwest of Big Town), the Nuka-Cola Plant or the area near the Arlington Library by killing everything in sight, Fast Travelling to another location on the map that’s nowhere near here, wait 3 days then Fast Travel back; rinse and repeat. You can also just go nuts in Megaton, Rivet City and any other populated settlement, killing everyone in sight. After you get the trophy you can just reload your save from before you went nuts and it'll be like nothing ever happened.

The Simulated soldiers in the Operation: Anchorage DLC also count towards this trophy.

Note: You can check your progress in the "Stats" section of your Pip-Boy or via the statistic that sometimes appears during loading screens.

If you are a very thorough explorer, you should get this with little issue. Most abandoned buildings have a handful of raiders inside. You will get quite a few toward the end of the main quest when going up against the Enclave as well. Killing slavers is always acceptable as well.

To mop up the remains of the achievement, simply save your game and go on a killing spree. Take out entire towns until you get it, then simply reload your previous save.

Note for PC Users: Instead of bothering with bad karma, use the console command "player.placeatme 0002F6C4 X" to spawn a generic raider, with "X" being the number of enemies you want to spawn at the same time. This depends entirely on how good your computer is. If you try something ridiculous like 200, you're going to crash your game. I wouldn't do more than 15-20 at a time unless you have a really good machine.

If you use the code "tgm" you will enable God Mode, allowing you to wipe out these large groups with no effort (unlimited health and ammo). You can also use the code "player.additem 00004322" to give yourself the Alien Blaster weapon which fires very quickly with a high damage output.

By the end of the game, if you have completed all the quests, you should receive this achievement. If not, then save and kill the inhabitants in the cities. After receiving the achievement, load your save.
