How to unlock the Not of This World achievement in Fallout 3 - Definitive Guide

This is the first quest available from the Mothership Zeta DLC, shortly after booting up the game you'll receive a new transmission, follow the the quest until you reach the Alien Crash site, from there you'll be abducted by an alien spacecraft and eventually you'll wake up in a holding cell. Once you've freed yourself from the cell block you'll have to work your way to the steam works and have to fight more enemies, You'll have to continue to work your way through the ship and protect the NPC who tags along, the achievement will unlock once you've freed some spacemen.

I apologise for how vague I've been but I've tried to make it as spoiler proof as possible without it being a terrible solution, I have however, linked in a video guide so if you're having any trouble with portions of the quest or generally just getting a bit lost around the ship, give it a watch.

This the first of three main quest achievements for the Mothership Zeta add-on. Just listen to the Recon Craft Theta Beacon Signal on your pip-boy radio (under Data) and follow the "Not of this World" quest. Once you arrive at the Alien Crash site -- you'll know when you've arrived -- the Mothership Zeta storyline will begin. Just follow the quest directions and you'll grab this and the two other achievements along the way for 80 gamerscore points. (If you want the last 20 points for the Alien Archivist achievement, you'll have to do some collecting as you go along.)

This is an achievement that you will get whilst doing the main quest. Just simply get to the part where you re-awaken the four bodies from stasis then wait for it.... achievement unclocked.

She'll say that if you start a fight, the Aliens will arrive and you'll have an opportunity to escape. After escaping, you'll see a young girl named Sally. Free her, and she'll take you through the ship. Soon, you'll enter a room with four bodies that are frozen in ice. After freeing them, the achievement will unlock.

Story Related and Unmissable

Before starting this DLC make sure your armour and headgear are fully repaired and you have plenty of chems and health items, because there are some major battles ahead of you. It's also wise to leave all your weapons and ammo at home because they're going to be of little use against the heavily armed and shielded Aliens, you will find better gear on the Mothership.

WARNING: There is a nasty but rare bug where the game can glitch during the opening sequence thus preventing you from continuing. The only cure/prevention for this is to save before approaching the crashed Alien Spaceship in the Wasteland and if you do glitch, then reload your save and try again. After the opening cutscene you will wake up in a cell with another abductee called Somah, who will talk about how you’re going to escape. You then need to start punching each other when told to by Somah so as to attract the Aliens attention. Once some Aliens arrive, kill them and take their Shock Batons. Make sure you go to the left first as there's some recordings in a room at the end. After wondering about a bit you will meet a little girl called Sally. You need to free her from her cell by overloading the nearby generator by raising the cooling rods, then pressing on the Core Coolant Switches. After doing this, talk to Sally then retrieve your gear from a nearby Security Office and make your way to the Steamworks.

Note: If you haven't already got the Main Game trophy called You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head either by giving Mister Crowley the keys, taking the Power Armour for yourself or using the Operation: Anchorage DLC trick then you have an additional way of getting it now. When you were abducted, all your gear was confiscated and stashed in a box in a Security Office near your cell. Now If you have the Power Armour from the Outcast's Armoury in the Operation: Anchorage DLC, then retrieving it from the box in the Security Office will pop the trophy.

The Steamworks are crawling with Aliens and they're all shielded, it also doesn't help that your Human weapons (if you brought any with you) are virtually useless against them so stick to the Shock Baton until you can grab an Alien weapon like the Atomizer or Disintegrator etc. It's best if you follow Sally's instructions and play stealthily until you manage to get into the Engineering Core, else you will find things get hard really quickly. Once in the Engineering Core, it's just a matter of following Sally round until she takes you to where the Stasis Chambers are.

The Quest will end and the trophy will pop once you get to the Stasis Chambers and Sally has finished talking.

The quest can be started by catching a strange alien signal (Recon Craft Theta Beacon) from a crashed UFO broadcast throughout the Wasteland. The dish itself and the signal source are located in the very north of the map, where signal reception is ensured. Here on this map look at "MK-Alien Invaders". It will begin there. You will come to a broken alien ship where aliens will kidnap you. You will find yourself in a cell (all your things will be confiscated) together with the woman Somah, you will initiate a fight and kill the guards who will come running to separate you. Next, free another captive - the girl Sally. Walking further, a guard will run out of one of the rooms; in this room, in one of the containers, all your things are. Then follow the marker, eventually you will meet Sally again and come to the cryolabaratory where the quest will end
