How to unlock the Diebrarian achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Here is a short video guide I made for all the locations of the magazines. I show a detailed walkthrough of each spot. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the video walkthrough!
For #4 you NEED to be able to pick MASTER locks.
For #5 you have to have COMPLETED the DLC.

Hey, #5 you don't need to have completed the game just yet. If you have a jetpack attached to a suit of power armor, you can use that go over the wall.

Purplbacon’s tip is easy to follow for #5. Didn’t take long at all to find a route as long as you know where to go after watching the video.

you can just hop the wall (with some patience and creative thinking) without jetpack armor. just go in that side entrance as mentioned then go left and find the knocked over red bottle and climb that to access the rocks area, behind that is the wall, there are two rocks that lead up to the wall either one can get u onto the wall with normal jumping but as i said, through patient determination.

NOT MY SOLUTION

Thought I put this here because I found it on Gameranx.com!

Scav! Magazine Issue #1: Galactic Zone – Find the Star Control building and follow the rounded exterior walls to a locked gate on the left. The Scav! magazine is found near a ruined bus, sitting next to a loot crate on the wooden boxes.
Reward: Increases speech challenge success chance.

Scav! Magazine Issue #2: Junkyard – On the western edges of the map, find the junkyard and go upstairs through the interior stairs. Follow the path around to a computer desk (just past the hanging yellow ride seat) — the issue is right there on the desk next to a locked safe.
Reward: +25% Combat Knife and Switchblade damage.

Scav! Magazine Issue #3: Kiddie Kingdom – Travel up to the northeast corner to discover the Fun House. Fight through the Hall of Mirrors and jump across the rotating platforms to reach the neon green spinners. Enter the tunnel on the right and continue ahead straight through another neon tunnel to find the issue in a dead-end corner.
Reward: +10% Hand to hand weapon damage.

Scav! Magazine Issue #4: Grandchester Mystery Mansion – Move down to the southwestern corner of the map to find the spooky mansion haunted by ghouls. Go through the whole tour and stop at the Exit sign — enter the employee’s only door (pick the lock) and take the stairs up to an abandoned workshop. Near the entrance to this room, look on your right to spot the issue on some wooden boxes, near a red handcart.
Reward: +5% explosives damage.
**NegativeCreep08 has mentioned that you need to have the ability to pick a Master Lock for this issue**

Scav! Magazine Issue #5: Dry Rock Gulch Theater – Enter the employee’s only area of Dry Rock Gulch and look for a pair of red cargo containers with wooden boards leading up to the garage roof. Cross from the garage roof onto the central building roof to discover the last magazine on a circular wood table.
Reward: +1 STR & +1 END if you have <= 10,000 caps / +2 STR & +2 END <= 1,000 Caps / +3 STR & +3 END <= 100 Caps.

EDIT: In the comments is a way to get #5 without finishing the story

SECOND EDIT: I am editing this 2 years later because I got a PM that I was an asshole for saying theater in issue #5. As it states at the top, I did not write this out. I simply posted it here for people to see. Also, I kept it as theater because the way to get into the employee's area without finishing the campaign starts at the theater, as I have mentioned. I have no idea why someone would take the time to personally PM me with a hate message over a solution, but here we are.

Anyone else having issues with the tour not started in the mystery mansion? I got the ticket but no key for the doors and at one door there is a invisible wall.

Thanks for this. Only thing i'd mention is that the #5 bit about finishing main story is incorrect, I've only done one story mission and have it. It's possible to jump up the red mountain type thing in Dry Rock Gulch, hop onto the wall separating it from the Employee's Only area and drop in to grab the book.

Worth mentioning that it's a master level lock for issue #4, so you may need to plan your perks accordingly

GJ great guide. And yes #5 can be collected as Roose91 said but is dependent to your caps so don't buy anything and grab it with <100 caps.

For that one, you have to follow the whole tour before getting there. I don't know if that matters for the invisible wall? Maybe it is just an unfortunate bug! Sorry man!

Something I would like to add. If you have a character with "more than" 10K in caps, like I have, you will not receive any boost to STR/ End. I made a quicksave and viewed my Special stats, picked up the book. There was no change to my Special after the fact. I hope this helps folks in the future, Cheers.

For number 5 why does it say Dry Rock Gulch Theater? When the Employees area is a separate area altogether...

Just a note: The bonus is dependent on your current cap count. It is not permanent. If you go over 100 caps the bonus will go down. angry

It's 2023 and he still hasn't edited the faulty #5 "solution '. He had time to throw a fit about someone justifiably calling him out on it though. Is there a way to report this one and have it taken down because by this point it's just a troll post.

It was a decent solution until number 5. The theater has an employee's area too and while you say you left it as theater because you started from there it makes absolutely no mention of how to get where you actually need to go. Are we just supposed to guess?

You can get these magazines from the "Dev Room" using the console command code "coc qasmoke", but you will NOT unlock the achievement apparently. You have to physically pick them up one-by-one off the ground. Now I don't know if you can still get the achievement, if already collected, by dropping them from your inventory and picking them up that way. But I will provide the codes for those said magazines:

SCAV! Issue #1 xx02A9F3
SCAV! Issue #2 xx02A9F4
SCAV! Issue #3 xx02A9F5
SCAV! Issue #4 xx02A9F6
SCAV! Issue #5 xx02A9F7

For me, I replaced the "xx" with 06 because I had all the DLC. If you don't, for money reasons, it would be a different number. Example: "player.placeatme 0402A9F3" would give you the first issue, right at your character's feet. Any questions and/or concerns, leave a friendly comment.

Thanks, but it should be correct. I pulled the CC from a steam guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=55523... Did that last one not work for you?

yeah nah I know, I was saying the a9 spawned at my feet, but the 9a didn't seem to spawn at my feet in my testing, tried a few times dunnoe; know it tends to clip through the floor sometimes so can't be 100% sure but that's why i tried a few times ; interesting though neither returns a noncompile error

So I just want to clarify. The numbers placed for the xx would be the numbers of DLCs you have installed. So since there is 6 pieces of DLC is the reason you put 06 for XX correct?

Dev room did not work for me, can confirm console commands worked a treat. To clarify you need to enter player.placeatme prior to entering the command code. Ie player.placeatme xx02A9F3

You can use the ones from the dev room. You just need to put them in a magazine stand in a settlement then take them from it.

i followed the coc qasmoke cc, took the scav! magazines out, went to a settlement, put them on a magazine rack (at red rocket there is one already there, a magazine rack) then just put them on, then take them back of the rack. My achievements arnt popping up weirldly anyway, but it definatly unlocked after i did ^^JamPound32

Just noting a small typo in this one
Last magazine code "SCAV! Issue #5 xx029AF7" should be xx02a9f7 i believe :)

hm interesting, at first I just assumed and fixed it since the A9 matched all the others (which worked) but i just tested it and yeah it doesn't seem to work, it doesn't return an error either interestingly but don't see the book spawn.

It should spawn the book underneath your character's feet, if I remember correctly.

Dislodged Puma solution is great up until #5, as he states. For those who need better directions for #5 follow below:
Starting from the East entrance (where Sheriff Eagle is / nearby the Minecart Coaster) head just into the park until you reach the first street. You'll notice a giant red Nuka bottle tipped over before the first building on the left. Jump/climb it and head to your right. You'll notice a gap between the mountain peaks. Jump up the rock face up through the gap ( you may have to follow the rock face a bit to get higher ground. Jump up as you head to the gap. If you can't jump, step back slightly until you can jump again, then move forward in the air)
Once though the gap, head left and follow the the rocks until you get to the top of the wall. Once on top, turn right and follow the rock wall to reach the Employee's Area.

There are 5 Scav! Magazines in total that you need to collect for this trophy:

#1, Galactic Zone: To the left of the entrance of Star Control, there's a gate you can lockpick. Once past that, it'll be on a crate to your left.

#2, Nuka-World junkyard: To the Southwest of Dry Rock Gulch there's a Junkyard. It will be inside the main building on the higher level on a desk (next to an Animatronic Alien).

#3, Kiddie Kingdom: This is inside the Fun House. Once you enter the trippy, swirly, green lit area: take a the first right followed by the first left. At the end of this hall you will find the magazine to your right on the floor.

#4, Grandchester Mystery Mansion: This is found in the attic room filled with stuff. Found on a crate in the eastern part of the room. I recommend doing the tour and once it has ended, find the nearest stairs.

#5, Dry Rock Gulch Employee Area: This can be found on the roof of the center building on a round table. Note that you access the Employee Area before completing the main quest-line by doing some "creative climbing" (see the video below).

Here is a video guide (credit to PS4Trophies for this):

Magazines are back once more in Nuka World and there are only five issues to collect. Luckily, none of them are missable but they are usually hidden away in areas you wouldn't normally inspect unless you're keen on thorough exploration.

Feel free to refer below for a checklist on the locations of all five magazines.

The Galactic Zone: Facing the front doors of the Star Control building, follow the exterior walls to the left and make your way past the locked gate. Continue forward and you will find the magazine on a crate near a ruined bus.

The Junkyard: This Junkyard can be found on the western edge of the region/map. The magazine is located upstairs on a computer desk; just take the stairs from the ground floor on the left side when entering the garage.

Kiddie Kingdom: While exploring the Fun House, you will eventually pass through the rotating hypo-walls. When you first enter this room, walk into the tunnel on your right, then turn left. Walk straight ahead into the dead end alcove and the magazine is on the floor to your right.

Grandchester Mystery Mansion: After finishing the guided tour, pick the master-lock leading to the attic. Upstairs, you will find the magazine on the right-hand side of the room, sitting on a wooden box.

Dry Rock Gulch Theater: After entering the "Employee's Only" area of the Dry Rock Gulch, make your way towards the back of the compound where you'll find some red cargo containers and some wooden planks leading to the garage roof. Cross onto the adjacent building and the magazine is perched on a wooden table.

Once all five magazines have been collected, the achievement will be yours. Feel free to refer to the video guide below if further assistance is needed. Thanks, PS4Trophies!
