Reach Maximum Relationship Level with a Companion

How to unlock the Lovable achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Probably the easiest companion to get this with is Codsworth. You can find him in front of your old home after leaving the vault, pretty hard to miss.wink
Now Codsworth loves it when you mod your weapons or armor. So every time you visit your preferred settlement to mod something you will make (or at least have a chance to make) Codsworth happy. Note that it has a cooldown until you receive a new like from him.
Old method, obviously patched, sadly:

If you want to boost it you can go sleeping for 48h and then mod something again and receive a new like from codsworth.
If you pay enough attention you can see a popup in the top left corner of the screen once the relationship increases. There are several stages of how much he likes you (neutral->respect->love->idolize). Every time it increases he will start a conversation with you by himself if he's somewhere around you.
If you have him at maximum it will net you the perk 'robot sympathy' which gives you +10 damage resistance for energy weapons from robots.
In case you have him with you as a companion, he also likes generosity, giving away items and nice or peaceful behavior.
What he doesn't like is selfish behavior, murdering non-hostiles, picking owned (red) locks, speech success, pickpocketing and theft.

If you don't switch between already owned mods you can make progress towards the 50 weapon mod achievement while increasing the relationship with Codsworth;
Fallout 4Armed and DangerousThe Armed and Dangerous achievement in Fallout 4 worth 57 pointsCreate 50 Weapon Mods

if you want to maximize any other companions relationship, you can find a list of what they like, what not and what perk they net you on this site;
http://www.gameranx.com/features/id/31624/article/fallout-4-...
note; sometimes it happens that you have to do something your companion doesn't like or you do it by accident and haven't saved your game recently to just load it and have it undone. But that's no reason to worry, it will not prevent you from reaching maximum relationship with them, it will just take a bit longer (except you do something to make them hostile like murdering them or someone friendly, try to avoid that wink).

*if you're going to vote negative please tell why in the comments so I can improve the solution if needed (in case something gets patched or anything alike), thanks! toast

Thanks to TonySki for spell checking the solution by putting it through Microsoft Word spelling and grammar check! smile

This worked great for me, Codsworth loves it when you mod weapons. I was modding a laser gun, not sure if this is specific. Also sleep for 24hrs after Codsworth gives you love for modding before you try it again. He also responds well when you make the morally right decision in dialog

Modding a weapon works, unfortunely sleeping for 24 hours and then modding again doesn't work for me. What I found is after each mod save the game and load it again and codsworth will love it again, also its faster then sleeping for 24 hours.

Do you need to build a new mod each time or just switch to Standard then back to the upgraded version?

About how many times do you have to do this? Are we talking 5,10,100 times? I feel like I've had paladin Danse love my actions 50 times but we still aren't maxed

I don't think you have to be next to him, just in the same settlement. For some reason in my game he likes to hang out on the opposite end of town from my crafting area, but he still "likes" when I make things. Maxed him out yesterday with no real effort, usually with Nick as my companion

Extra Tipp: if you mod your weapon in Sanctuary, you can double your efforts by modding the armour aswell. (just a few steps away) Armor and weapons make codsworth like you two times in one safegame !

great solution it took me about 30-40 mins of pure quick saving, loading and then using the armour and weapon mods that were right next to each other.(it felt like a years worth of time) effective solution but boring achievement if doing it all in one go.

*edit; well it says 100%, hope it's not glitched for you. maybe you could try get another companion at maximum and see if it unlocks correctly then. paladin danse is easy too as i found out since he likes it when you enter power armor and this is repeatable with quicksave/reload too..

Codsworth approved the first time I modded something but that's it. No matter what modding I do now he has no interest (I've tried sleeping on it, saving and quitting but no change). Now the only way to progress our relationship is through conversation and choices.

I think I'll stick with Cait instead unless this fixes.

In a single modding my power armor I was able to get it to like and the love and then idolize after crafting all possible armour types and paints. Then I had two conversation one after the other where he confessed this to me. All without sleeping or waiting.

After I finally got to romance Piper, I switched to Cail, got naked (except for armor), and just fast traveled, she likes that, so I had her at "respect" very quickly (along with being sarcastic) in a very short time.........

So to recap: With Cail, just fast travel between settlements while naked (you can wear armor though), the loading times are even quicker (for me) then the whole "quick save & reload" mess

Edit: Come to think about it, you can use the same method as your solution states on Paladin Danse as well (personally, I think his perk is way better!)

well i don't play fallout atm although i don't have finished all achievements yet ^^ however @GuNsLiNgErX1983
i don't know about all companions and how to get them resp. maximise their relationship, this solution is just to show a quick way of getting the related achievement. you can check this site to see what they like and what not, so you can try to max the relationship with the companion you want; http://www.ign.com/wikis/fallout-4/Companions
and if i remember right its for most of the companions that they ask you for a quest once the maximum relationship is reached and only after that asked quest you get their perk..

for codsworth it shouldn't take too long, maybe 20-30 times maximum. for paladin danse i really don't know yet, i also had much likes from him but no perk yet. maybe it's something else that triggers the max relationship with him like progress further in the brotherhood mission line (i have not done the questlines after the molekular level yet). he's also a romantic option, but that only works if you're a woman.. :)

@ALollz i did a quick search and you can in fact have a romance with him even as a man ^^ however you have to go thru a lot of conversation before that and choose the right dialogue options. i already had the option to flirt with him too but it didn't work, probably you will need a high charisma for this.. wink and it shouldn't take much more time with danse than getting codsworth on maximum. here is a video that should help you out.

I'm on PS4 however I can also confirm that this mod/save/reload method doesn't work any more.

I don't know when/if this got patched but since i started playing around 20 April ive had to install 2 patches, the latest one only a week or so ago if that's any help.

.I found the only way was to mod weapon and armour > sleep for 48 hours > repeat.

I recorded it not working when using the mod/save/load method here. (the reason you dont see me select the save file is the ps4 doesn't record the home screen)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXj9vJZM2qQ

and also here is the 48 hour sleep method working.

I found it very easy to do with Cait. You will meet her in the Combat Zone (you will eventually get a miscellaneous objective to investigate there, by overhearing a Diamond City guard, I think).

Now, just totally undress yourself and fast-travel between a few locations (I fast-travelled to Goodneighbor, Diamond City market, Sanctuary Hills and Abernathy Farm). I chose settlements because you are safe upon arrving there. Each time you arrive at a location, and you are naked, Cait will like it.

Even better, if you stock up on booze and chems, if you drink alcohol or take a chem upon arrival at a location and waiting a few seconds, you will get a second like in most cases (beer doesn't count).

With this method, you will get 1-2 likes every couple of minutes, making this, I believe, the fastest way to improve a relationship with a companion. It took me only around 45 minutes to get Cait's personal quest, and another few minutes after I completed her quest, to reach the maximum level.

Edit: alternative solution with McCready, who you will find in the Third Rail in Goodneighbor. He likes when you steal something. Find a good spot for stealing (for me, the best one was the USS Constitution). Make sure you won't be caught by NPCs. Then, steal one item, Mc Cready will like it. Save and quit, reload your save, steal something again, rinse and repeat.

Didn't work for me when I tried it. I waited until Level 44 though (I remember a bug in New Vegas where it was difficult to get Veronica's quest if you waited too long in the game.)

I got the achievement already, I just want her quest.

What you can also try is to stock up on booze and chems, then save. Consume one of these, and she will like it most of the time. If she doesn't, reload and try again. If she liked it, SAVE and quit. Reload the save you just created after she gave you a like, and repeat.

This method also works with McCready, except he likes when you steal something. Find a good spot for stealing (for me, the best one was the USS Constitution). Make sure you won't be caught by NPCs. Then, steal one item, Mc Cready will like it. Save and quit, reload your save, steal something again, rinse and repeat.

Well, I tried it again. I don't get any likes from traveling naked. I took off everything, including the wedding ring. I also tried walking from place to place naked with no fast travel, equipping and unequiping armor, and unequiping my weapons. Drinking beer also doesn't work, but using jet did. Picking a lock worked too. Must be a bug.

If Curie is close by she comments about you being naked, even when you have armor on. I get around 130 damage and energy resistance from my armor, and only a fraction of that is from my clothes.

https://www.trueachievements.com/Grandmasterka.htm - beer doesn't count, it has to be wine or spirits.

Works perfectly using the naked fast travel method. One good option is taking Cait to do the Proctor Teagan missions. Don't try to convince the setlers to gave the crops, just kill them in front of Cait and she will always give you a like...

Are you totally naked? Remove everything you have, even the glasses. Maybe try to fast-travel a couple of times with you armor, then undress again. Try just entering in your house in Diamond City and exit again. Even this worked for me. If it still doesn't help, I guess you have a glitch. :(

SPOILERS: East North-East of Diamond City, South of Boston Common is a bar/fight arena called the combat zone. I received it as a miscellaneous task to go check it out. Upon arrival I killed all the bandits inside to "save" the owner and a female fighter named Cait. Go through the dialogue and get her to join up with you. She enjoys it when you drink, do drugs, steal things, pick locks, and always taking the moral low-road. It only took several hours of traveling with her to go through about four dialogues she initiates after you keep getting her favor up with you. You will know you're almost finished after
One more conversation after this and you will be given a tough romance option with charisma. I used grape mentats to boost my charisma, and ensure success. After she shares the mutual sentiments , you will have full relationship with her and achievement unlocked. (Also as Rubiodan mentioned in the comments, you still get the romance option as a female character)

I just quick-boosted my way to Cait idolizing me with a pretty easy method. I didn't find the place until after her quest, so I don't know how far up the relationship ladder it would get you from the beginning, but you do need to be able to use a Master level computer and pick all levels of lock.

Slightly NorthEast of Diamond City is a marker for Back Street Apparel(its just below the river). If you zoom all the way IN on your PipBoy map, you'll see two roads that run through the icon. South of the icon is a third street, and on the North edge of the street, south east of the icon for Back Street Apparel, is a Bank which doesn't have an icon on the map. This Bank has a regular vault that requires a Master level Terminal to open, and inside contains 15 Safes that can be picked. If you pick one, Cait likes it, and you can go to a nearby chair, wait two hours, and pick another. I'm sure there are other ways, but I figured I'd share the location for anyone who wants/needs a quick boost and wants some loot as well.

The easiest person I've found to use for this achievement is Piper if you're playing a "good play through". She'll ask you later in the game on your opinion on what to do about her sister. Tell her not to worry and use the family option. Within a few quests she'll say thanks for you opinion and the achievement will pop.

You can get this as soon as you get out of Vault 111, when you make your way to Sanctuary.

After you have had talked to Codsworth move the story along, press "~" to open the CC window and click on Codsworth while looking at him.

It should pull up several digits in parentheses. The numbers isn't important, as long as you see some.

Type in "modav CA_affinity 1000". This should maximize his affinity with you. But in order to get the achievement to unlock, you need to do something else that Codsworth likes, such building/adding a mod to a weapon or armour.

Once you do that, you should see the message "Codsworth Likes/Loves that", if not, just sleep for 48hrs and try again. After that, go talk to him again. He should want to talk to you about something important. Achievement Unlocked!

Any questions and/or concerns, leave a friendly comment. Also to the petty downvoters; Go f#$k yourselves. That is all.

If I remember correctly, each companion likes/dislikes you based on actions or words you use. So I think for Cait, it's lying or saying mean things and stealing stuff. You could google it as well for the wiki page.

I have completed this with two companions, Codsworth and Preston. Both like it when you make the "helpful" dialog decisions. In addition, Codsworth gets nice bumps in his affinity towards you when you make improvements to your weapons at a workshop.

Each companion will chat with you 3-4 times as you get them to like you more, and when you get the achievement, you will see "[companion] idolizes you" in the top left of your screen. Once you see this, do the final dialog with the companion for a permanent perk AND the achievement.
18
0

14 Nov 2015 02:12

So this is how I'm doing it:

First make sure you have good hacking and locksmith abilities by unlocking their perks. (You have to unlock them anyways for their related achievements)
Know, to get Piper as your companion, go to Diamond City and she will be outside of Diamond City. Interact with her after and agree to help her out. She will then ask you for an interview, accept and she will become your companion. Make her your companion and as you explore the wasteland you will encounter many things to lockpick and hack. Piper likes it when you pick locks and hack terminals, so keep her around as you explore and after enough lockpicking and hacking you will get the achievement.

For some reason I couldn't get the achievement to unlock with Codsworth. I did this with Preston Garvey, which was almost as fast and also helps towards two other achievements you can't immidiately unlock with a console command (Community Organizer and Never Go It Alone).

Opening the console is different in every keyboard layout, check yours here if you're not sure:

If you're unfamiliar with Fallout 4, Preston Garvey is found in the first quest after leaving Vault 111, which you'll need to do for the War Never Changes achievement, anyway. First, talk to Codsworth in Sanctuary, right next to the vault. You then get a quest to go to Concord to see what's up. There's a fight and you have to kill some raiders.

After rescuing Preston from Concord and waiting until he arrives at Sanctuary, he starts to give quests to help settlements. When you've liberated the first one (Tenpines Bluff I believe), you can start to bring Preston along as a companion.

Take him with you. Open the console, click on Preston and type or copy/paste from here:

SetAv ca_Affinity 1000
You can use the following command afterwards to see if it worked, should be at 1000:

GetAv ca_Affinity
Then, travel to the settlement in need (Greentop Nursery). If you haven't found it, the following console command reveals the entire map:

tmm 1
When Preston is with you, talk to the settlers in need and introduce yourself as Minutemen, be very polite. This caused the message "Preston idolizes you" and "Preston liked that" to appear, prompting his conversation about your friendship, even made the romance possible (if playing with a female character, that is). Achievement unlocked right after the conversation.

You can continue doing the quest for the Community Organizer achievement (this is the second out of three required settlements).

To make things even easier, use the console command for god mode:

tgm
And kill all hostiles in an area:

kah

For those of your with a moral hesitancy to use the console unless the game has glitched, there's a very easy and fun way to get this if you find yourself preferring to adventure alone and therefore miss out on having a companion with you for most of the major side quests and conversation trees

Not only can you do it for one character quickly (which probably should be Preston if you intend on playing Nuka World right through so that you get his companion perk), but you can also quickly raise affinity for Codsworth, Piper, Nick, Curie, Hancock, Strong, Deacon, and Danse, as well as unlocking two cool side quests and a torrent of new dialogue where you learn about the histories of all the companions.

You need Automatron completed without killing the Mechanist/Isabella, move all the above companions to The Mechanist's Lair and keep one companion at your side for the passive affinity increase. Then accept Rogue Robot missions from Isabella. If she says she has no quests, immediately talk to her again and she'll have a quest for you.

Even though Isabella is usually out of the workshop area when you interact with her, all companions in the settlement will like you accepting this quest. The quest itself is simple and fun. The robots are always weird and varied and fun to explode, the mission ends when the robots are killed. ALL Rogue Robot quests appear outside of any cells, allowing direct fast travel to Isabella without the need to enter any other cells. And as soon as you return to her, she'll have another quest for you (even if you have to talk to her twice) and you can get everyone to like you again and just continue this cycle.

The quest also spawns in familiar random encounter locations, so you'll often come across other factions entering the tussle, often killing the robot for you while you sit back and enjoy the show. I am at a stage where I have all major factions friendly with me, so it is a lot of fun seeing the Institute or BOS take down a particularly violent Tankbot for you while you sit back and reap the quest rewards. Though it is fun to shoot the arms off a robot myself, and then lure it towards the Synths when it explodes.

Also, add an armor and weapons bench to The Mechanists Lair, every 48 game hours, just by switching to lesser mod and then back again, you can get Preston to like it (weapons) and Codsworth to love it (both).

You'll spend several hours having a blast killing robots, earning an achievement, learning more about your friends, and racking up companion perks.

Why bother with a console? =)

Each companion has a set of likes and dislikes. I was with Piper for a long time in the game and was the companion I ended up getting max relationship level with. She liked it when I lockpicked doors and hacked Terminals, as well as being generally good to people in conversations. She didn't like, when I stole things from people, persuaded people or threatened people. It come up at the top left that "X Liked That", "X Loved That", "X Disliked That", "X Hated That". Once you reach a certain level of the relationship, they'll start a conversation with you about something. Always choose the "Flirt" option when it is there. Eventually they'll be a "Romance" option after around 4 or so different conversations. Choose this and you'll more than likely be rewarded the trophy. Piper turned me down but I still got the trophy for max relationship level. Unfortunately there is no way to check your current level with your Companion.

Dogmeat cannot be used for this achievement.

In order to reach the maximum relationship level with a companion you need to complete quests with the person, perform actions they like (Piper for instance likes me picking into things), and avoid doing things your particular companion does not like (Piper for instance does not like me persuading people).

For a full breakdown of likes/dislikes, check the Fallout 4 Wiki.

The trophy is quite easy. But it will take a relatively long time to complete.
I'll tell you how I got the trophy.
I took Deacon as my partner, you can recruit him by completing 2 quests of the “community” Underground. In my opinion, it’s easier to take an achievement with him (if you play as a good guy.)
Deacon likes it when you pick locks, hack terminals, that's it. Plus, while you're hacking locks and terminals, boost your hacking trophies along the way. Secondly, Deacon likes it when you do good deeds and speak honestly with other NPCs.
Actually. There are 3 stages of relationships. Every new stage of a relationship begins when your partner tells you, “we need to talk.” If your partner wants to talk about something, then you are on the right track. When talking, be sure to support your partner. After 3 frank conversations you will receive an achievement.

I found a way: you take Kate and, without wearing clothes, just in shorts, you begin to quickly move to any point. Upon arrival at the point, she will like your appearance and so on until you get the maximum

I did it with my partner Piper (found in the story), she also likes it when you pick locks (though for some reason it doesn’t work for everything) and when you take additional quests where you need to help people and when you hand them over to them and, again, when you tell the truth.

Yes indeed Piper is the best partner to get this achievement! It is located in the location: Damon City! According to the plot, you will definitely find it, but the sooner the better, because there are a decent number of castles. needs to be hacked! WARNING: Piper doesn't like stealing!
we pick locks, complete tasks, help residents and you will receive an achievement, the main thing is that as sympathy for you grows, talk to your partner!

The trophy is not difficult at all; before reaching the molecular explosion, I fully pumped up 4 satellites without straining easily. The coolest McCready perk increases the probability of a hatshot by 20% according to the description (in reality it is more, for example: the chance is 50% in the body, 95% is almost always drawn in the head and this is clearly not 20% raised)))

I went through the entire game with Piper, but the trophy never dropped. Knocked out with Kate, you need to inspect the combat zone and take her as a partner, as we wrote above, we undress and jump (I jumped in shelter 111 and the redrocket parking lot), you need to jump for a long time, after the next conversation she will give a quest, save her from addiction in shelter 95, go through him, and again we jump between cities until she speaks again

The easiest and fastest way to get a trophy is Paladin Dance, if you go along the BS branch.
You just need to take it with you and put on/remove power armor in the settlement, and then somehow modify it (remove/add color). After that, wait 48 hours and repeat again.

If Dance is not there, then you can do it with Codsworth (he also likes it when you improve his armor, but it will take a little longer).

In order to raise the maximum level of Kate’s relationship, you need to complete the quest “Beneficial Intervention.” At the end of the quest, select the option that makes it possible to cure Kate of addiction.

in Kate's case, the trophy is obtained after clearing Vault 95, which is part of the quest received from her.

The deacon does not like chemistry, so in his presence do not give anything to Mother Murphy in Sanctuary

Dance is just the same hemorrhoidal partner, because... To get 100% of the relationship, you must follow the BS branch.
