How to unlock the Ranger Corps achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

By far the fastest way to get this is to hang out in the main part of Boston city. In the city alone, there are right around 75 locations. After doing some side quests and misc objectives, I had roughly around 60 locations. I ran around the city for about half an hour, and skyrocketed up to 100, and found some pretty neat locations along the way!!

I am putting this here as a reference. It's a neat interactive map that Reddit has offered up, and it shows the locations of all key collectibles in the game. What I would suggest is going for the bobbleheads, magazines, giant creatures etc etc, and then heading into the inner city to mop up the rest of your locations. It really isn't much of a grind, and can actually just be gotten over time if you finish the game. If you really want to grind it, though, this is a good way to go.

When I had 96 locations discovered I talked/listened to the Security guards in Diamond City which added new things to the map. Later I found a note on the ground which added another location to the map, then suddenly the achievement unlocked. So apparently you don't have to discover all 100 by yourself, they just have to be on your map.
But just like you said, this should unlock by just playing through the game.

hit the "~" on US keyboards to bring up the console command. (It may be different on other keyboards)

Type "tmm 1" and it will unlock all locations.

This information comes from Mysterio400 who posted it in a comment on another solution.

Find 100 unique locations. This is largely unmissable, unless you never walk anywhere.

With 330+ locations in the game this achievement will not be something you worry about unlocking. Going into the actual city of Boston and exploring all of the unknown locations can net you upwards of 40 locations within the city limits.

For this trophy you simply need to discover 100 locations. You will notice as you are walking around the wasteland that a message saying "You have discovered X!" sometimes appears, this means you have discovered the location you have just entered and it'll be added to your Pip-Boy map. This also allows you to travel to the area via Fast Travel or Vertibird. You need to find 100 different locations for this trophy but there are well over 200 locations on the map so you should just get this one over time by playing the game.

I’ll give you some advice: don’t use the map, everything is nearby, and as you progress, the trophy will open.

Don’t bother, you can call it a “story trophy”; it will come out on its own as you progress. Usually by the end of the game 125-150 locations are open. But the map will help.
