How to unlock the Scavver achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Scavver

This seems to unlock if you have 1000 material in your possession, for instance when you scavenge stuff for your base it goes into your workshop. So when you get 1000 material just go into your workshop and take your materials that add up to over 1000.

If you are looking for the fastest way to get 1000, salvage all the trees, those add up to a TON of wood!

Totally agree, salvaging all the trees in Sanctuary made this a very easy achievement!

Wish I could say, I unlocked the achievement when I pulled everything out of my Workshop, I had 1600 Wood and almost nothing else.

Same thing happened to me, i had to take out my resources and put transfer them back to get it to pop. Looks like it's just a little misleading.

Yeah, if it doesn't unlock for you, just go to any workbench and take any material that you have over 1000 in (Mine was wood) and it will unlock.

I have over 2000 resources and still no achievement

Not unlocking for me. Why is this game so buggy? Guess I’ll keep messing with this.

This achievement seems to be buggy. I've got around 5000 junk in my stats menu and it still hasn't unlocked so I think it may be bugged out.
Edit: I had to reset my MAC address and load an old save :|

yeah - RiddLs is correct - I just got it by transferring the wood from the Workshop to My Inventory and then back again (coz it's too heavy!)

Choose FEMALE gender/race. After completing the mission FIRST UP (and destroying JARED at the CORVEGA distillery/factory), crafting/combining comes easy. Note, the STARLINE drive-in-theatre, has tons and tons of OBJ.

It seems the counter goes up everytime you pick up resources regardless if they were previously picked up, I'm saying this because the achievement popped for me while taking all the junk in my workbench and transfering it again back and forth. Not sure if this is a valid way of obtaining this achievemnt but surely you'll want to try it once you have a good amount of junk and resources stored in your settlement.

EDIT: This video shows how to do it and further confirms this method is in fact valid, props to Reabo for recording it.

I actually got this going for Armed and Dangerous following the guide by Greenllabel.

Step 1. Enter the console mode (`~ key).
Step 2. Type in coc qasmoke and hit Enter to transport to the developers room.
Step 3. Move over to the footlockers on the tables next to the workbenches.
Step 4. Transfer the contents of each footlocker into your inventory by hitting "R" and "R" again (to transfer all).

Achievement should pop after the third or fourth footlocker (mine popped after the fourth).

You only need to take two or three stacks of 500 from the scrap container, your achievement popping might have just been delayed.

Taking the scrap piles of (500) from the scrap container as iVilux suggests works perfectly

The simplest way to get this is every time you get access to a new settlement from helping the Minutemen, go to that settlement, hold cn_back to bring up the workshop and break down everything into their component parts by selecting them and confirming. It can take a while, but it is relatively easy.

This is actually easy to do as soon as you have access to Sanctuary Hills workshop. Once you do, begin scrapping everything in town. Once you believe you have finished, exit the workshop, then transfer the workshops entire inventory to your own. Achievement Earned!

If (like me) the achievement is not (or wasn't, in my case) popping up, try doing this:
  1. Goto Xbox Settings.
  2. Goto Network > Advanced Settings.
  3. Select "Alternate MAC address".
  4. Select "Clear".
Now all you have to do is restart the console, go back into Fallout 4, load up a new game (though your current one may work as well) and get 1000 scrap.
Note: There is an auto-save just before exiting vault 111 for the first time, use that save as you'll (probably) not have 1000 junk collected at that point unless you're using mods (which stops achievements on Xbox).

You simply need to transfer 1k items into your inventory from someplace else. If you have a bunch of Junk in your workbench you can transfer it into your inventory (don't sweat the weight limit) and then back into the workbench with the one button xfer all and repeat until the counter gets to 1k.

Building a scavenging workbench early and then cleaning house and recycling everything you can in your settlements will also help you get there.

When you are in a settlement, hold down the to enter build mode (or which ever button you've assigned it to). Once in build mode you can scrap objects and these break down into resources so this trophy is guaranteed to unlock just by playing the game. You can also bring items to settlements, drop them on the floor then break them down. Pretty much anything can be broken down in the game and provide resources.

Resources used for crafting are what most see as common junk. If you continuously pick things up and put them in your workshops throughout your settlements hitting 1,000 total will not be a hard task. To make it even easier, you do not have to even put the junk in your workshop as the counter increases each time you come into possession of any junk.

It fell out when I took a bunch of junk (which I collected myself) from my workshop. This means you can store and take out things, they will be counted again and again.

in the workshop, everything you collect will be considered as resources. Shown this on video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT7v...ature=youtu.be

Collected 1000 wood simply by dismantling trees in Sanctuary, 30 wood for each.

I found a junktron today, loaded everything from the workbench into myself, and then into the junktron, fired from the junktron a couple of times and then clicked save everything and the trophy fell out. Without collecting anything or spilling it on the floor, I pressed almost 3 buttons. Maybe it will be useful for someone.

At first I didn’t understand how to complete this trophy. In short, how I got it: go to Senchuari, cut down trees and a fence for more than 1000 resources, go to the workshop, press "square" (details), press "triangle" (put everything into your inventory), wait five seconds and throw everything back to the workshop.
