How to unlock the The Most Toys achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Once you have built the Robot Workshop at any of your settlements during the “A New Threat” quest, you can then use it to build robot companions and deck them out with mods (similar to Power Armor). When using the workshop, just select “New Automatron.” From there you can begin building their various components—head, torso, arms, and legs.

While you do start off with a few mods from the get-go, you’ll have to collect more off fallen robots to unlock several more customization and modification options. Additionally, you will need junk items to build these modifications, just as if you were building Power Armor mods. Lastly, you will need specific ranks of the Science! And Robot Expert perks to build the higher end mods.

This achievement can be unlocked as early “A New Threat” when upgrading Ada. All you have to do is change her color ten times (robot paint does not require any material).

NOTE: As of May 20th, changing colors will no longer work. You must actually build 10 different mods to unlock the achievement.

I got this by only changing Ada's color 10 times.

Do you need any perks for changing the colour?

I don't believe so, no. Unlike other mods that show the required perks on the right side, colors did not.

Literally swap between No Paint and her Aqua Paint repeatedly until it unlocks.

The paint method didn't work for me. I changed Ada's color 50 times and no achievement.

Still no achievement for me, done it about 250 times by now. Achievement is stuck at 100% and has been for a month.

i've done it on Jezebel. After doing more than 10 mods on Ada (countless colours + actual mods), i did countless colours + 3 or 4 actual mods on Jezebel and achievement has been unlocked.

maybe for some reasons it wasn't counting colours for me...

Didn't work for me either. I had to do actual mods.

Same here. I keep changing the colour but never get the achievement. I think I will have to build actual mods. Was this patched?

I'm thinking one of the last patches fixed the color method. I'll update the guide accordingly.

Changing paint did not work for me either. I built 10 robots including ada. Im guessing that I didnt need to build that many but who knows. What I can say is I built a few dozen modifications and the cheevo would not pop. Then I built another and it popped. What I noticed is it gave me xp on the last one and I got xp about 10 times so my guess is you may need to do a change/modification to the robot that gives xp(its the same xp you get for picking a lock).

Teleport to the QA room using the console
coc qasmoke
Take everything from the all scrap chest (2 to the right of the terminal).
Go to the robot workbench.
Make an automatron.
Go into each category, then go into each mod slot under the category.
You can build any mods that are not grayed out (it will say "E) Build" at the bottom if you don't already have it)

The following slots have a decent number you can create:
Male Voice (Under Voice)
Left Hand (3rd one down under left arm)
Right Hand (3rd one down under right arm)

You just need to build 10, applying them doesn't really matter.

if you've somehow used a majority if not all from the all scrap chest like me input these codes. these will add 1000x adhesive, aluminium, ceramic, circuitry, rubber and steel to your inventory. pretty much everything you need for this.

After finishing Mechanical Menace, you unlock robot workbenches. They're under the "special" category and not "crafting" (just a heads up. Took me a minute to actually find it).

Just walk up to it and select your companion of choice. You do not have to use 10 different robot mods, just something as simple as switch the color of the robot or just one random mod back and forth 10 times will get the achievement as I did it this way so I'm 100% sure it works like that.

At first, I thought you had to actually build 10 robots, but that's not the case!

Just go to the machine, select Automatron-304, and just add mods to the torso, arms, legs, etc. You could even make a save right before to save your materials. (You'll know it counts when you get XP).

Just clearing any confusion if you were like me and were unsure.

In order to build Robot Mods you must have first completed 'Mechanical Menace'. You must create a Robot Workbench at any of your settlements, which you will have to do as part of the 'A New Threat' quest regardless. Once you have created one simply interact with it using like any other workbench and you can build mods for a new or existing robot using any materials you have at that settlement.

To build a robot workbench you will need the following materials:

  • Gear (6)
  • Oil (4)
  • Screw (4)
  • Plastic (4)
  • Aluminium (12)
  • Fiberglass (6)
  • Circuitry (3)

The robots you will fight in the story drop some of these but if you don't have enough, then visit a merchant as these materials are not hard to come by. You can make life a little easier by taking Rank 2 of the Scrapper Perk, because that will highlight any specified "junk" item in the world that you are particularly looking for.

After completing "A Mechanical Menace" and recieving "A New Threat" (DLC01MQ02), you'll be asked to build a Robot Workbench at any settlement after finding the Mechanist Device at General Atomics.

I recommend crafting Ada's leg armor and arm armor as they're low cost compared to some other mods. Unequip the mods after crafting, exit the workbench, drop the mods and re-craft them.

In order to unlock this achievement, the Sole Survivor must create ten robot mods using the robot workbench. In the current version of Fallout 4, you can no longer earn this achievement by simply changing the paint color.

Use the "coc qasmoke" command to go to the dev room. Loot every chest from here and you will have all the robot mods and tons of materials to build them. There is a robot crafting station in this room as well, so head over there and begin building a robot and add something in the arm, legs, head, etc until the achievement unlocks.

I did it on the robotic companion, Ada, and upgraded it before the final mission. Just change any 10 parts and the trophy is yours.

The method that was recorded in the video. We make 10 modifications and don’t worry.

For those who are too lazy to watch the video, I’ll briefly explain: at the beginning of the plot we meet the robot, he gives a drawing for a workbench for robots. If resources allow, we simply attach new arms, legs, head, body to this robot, and so on 10 times. I got the trophy when I updated a more or less story-driven robot and created another one from scratch.
