How to unlock the Touchdown! achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

When you start the game you can head directly east from Sanctuary until you reach a large freeway overpass. At the northern tip of the overpass where the map ends there is a small raider hideout. It's directly north of the Skylanes Flight 1981 location if you're having trouble finding it. In the camp is a raider named Boomer at the top of the stairs. He carries a Fatman and is more than willing to blow you up with it. Let him do it and achievement unlocked!

Neo182 was kind enough to make a video of this solution for those who are visually inclined.

Got blown up multiple times by a suicide. This never popped for me.

There is one in Lexington as well, just northeast of the Corvega Factory. He's wearing raider power armor up on a scaffolding walk way. Shot at him a few times and he'll throw you a pass. ;)

So I was in Sanctuary doing nothing and had the game paused. And this achievement popped. Weird.

Lol, i thought the same current. Got wrecked by a raider in a building in lexington as well. Popped my head around a corner only to get blasted point blank by a mininuke lol.

I have this in the "Unlocking" state on my XO, it's frustrating as other cheevies have unlocked since I should have got this one

Just in case someone is completely new to the series, you do have to first leave the vault before you can head East to get to this raider camp.

Fyi, if you leveled up using the command for 10000000 experience, your character becomes too strong to die.

I had leveled up using the command, so spawning 10 of these guys instead of just one did the trick.

There are 3 ways to get this achievement:
1 - Die by a Raider using a Fatman - There are many of these types of enemies around the map but keep in mind that clearing out specific areas will make them safe zones and cause them to spawn more randomly. An easy place to find this raider is by travelling north from the Skylanes Flight 1981, which is east of the Sanctuary and can be accessed relatively early in the game. North of this location you will find an antenna will this enemy, just go near and let them kill you.
2 - Die by a Super Mutant Suicider explosion - These are large green enemies that carry explosive bombs will red blinking lights. They can be found early on in the game at the Medford Memorial Hospital or at a trainwreck south of Diamond City (near Cutler Bend).
3 - Kill yourself using a Fatman or MiniNuke - Acquire one of these weapons and kill youself.

In addition to the solutions above, if you have your own Fatman and mininuke you can do the job yourself and pop the achievement.

To do a Touchdown in Fallout 4, you need to find a "Super Mutant Suicider". One of them can be found around the "Medford Memorial Hospital".

The Suicide Mutant will have a bomb in his hand with blinking red lights. Once you find him, simply run into him and he will detonate the bomb.

There are a couple of other Super Mutants around, so make sure they don't get you before the Suicide Mutant does.

There are two methods i found to unlock for me (tried on my brothers account too as i thought it was a glitched achievement)
Method 1 (which gave me the achievement): let a raider kill you using a fatman
Method 2: run into or let a super mutant suicider run into you both methods have to blow you up and kill you.

Ok I'm going to slow down and explain how to get the achievement first go to Skylanes Flight 1981 you can go there as soon as you enter the wasteland by going east from where you start in the wasteland Sanctuary now after you see the airplane crash open your pipboy with the b button on the controller and set a custom waypoint north of your location then look for an antenna near the bridge then all you have to do is get killed by the raider using a fatman to kill you you can also kill yourself with the weapon but i found this to be the easiest and fastest way to do it and after you get killed you will be 10G richer happy gaming and go score a touchdown!

This achievement popped for me after a Raider Scum killed me with a Fat Man. YMMV.

After you go to "GrayGarden" and talk to a robot It starts the quest "Troubled Water" which asks you to investigate the "Water Treatment Plant". Upon arrival you can see Super Mutants patrolling (this is the first I had seen them in the game). I just started shooting one from afar and a Suicider came running at me with a Mini Nuke. Simply let him slam you with it and the achievement will pop.

When you start the game you can head directly east from Sanctuary until you reach Skylanes Flight 1981. Here is a picture of its location, http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/9/91/FO4_... Once you reach this location, head North under the freeway watching your compass for an antenna. It should not be too terribly far. Once there, a raider will blow you away with a Fatman giving you this achievement. Here is a video demonstrating all of this. Good luck!

To get a touchdown, you need to be killed by a Mini-Nuke and there are a few ways to do this:

  • An enemy with a Fat Man launcher shoots one at you.
  • You shoot a Mini-Nuke at your feet using a Fat Man.
  • A Super Mutant Suicider makes a touchdown with the Mini-Nuke strapped to his hand on you.

This is a very simple trophy and you are no doubt going to get killed by a Mini-Nuke at some point in the game.

You’ll need to get blown up by a Super Mutant Suicider or a Super Mutant using a Fat Man Launcher. They are randomly spawned throughout the Commonwealth and by dying, your trophy will unlock and load up the last hard save, the last autosave or the last quicksave.

This achievement is obtained for allowing a Super Mutant Suicider to kill you once during your playthrough. The Suiciders can be recognized easily due to their bomb jacket’s blinking red light. They will also storm across the landscapes and run straight at you, so you should no worries differentiating these enemies from other wastelands hostiles. Suiciders will spawn in a variety of locations around the open world environment, so you may end up unlocking this without preparing much at all. Travel to the train wreck between Somerville Place and Hyde Park to find a Suicider.

You can also be killed by a Fat Man (nuke launcher) to unlock the achievement.

This is obtained by letting a suicide bomber kill you. First, save your game and turn off god mode ("tgm") and then use "player.placeatme 0014AE58 1" to spawn a suicider. If that doesn't kill you, spawn another in the same method until you die.

I actually got it almost by accident, I was wandering around the neighborhood, suddenly the sound was like a flying RPG, boom I’m dead and the prize falls, probably for the first time I was pleased with death from who knows what. Played on maximum difficulty.

The giant is called Super Mutant Kamikaze, found in different places. If you run around, you will definitely come across sidequests.

You don't have to die from a giant. You have to die from a direct hit from a nuclear projectile, the weapon is called “Fat Man”. You can either catch your face from any Raider in power armor, or shoot yourself at your own feet, any option counts. The main thing is to have a direct hit.

Almost at the beginning of the map, near the crashed plane, there is a raider in the “Boomer” power armor and he had the “Fat Man” weapon. I survived, took the sniper, crouched down and took one shot at the head, thinking I would either kill him or seriously wound him, but he burned me and took out the big fool. I rushed back, but didn’t have time and this bastard annoyed me. Then the trophy fell out and surprised me.

There is another way in which you don’t have to die at all. There is a task in the game (it will appear in the "miscellaneous" task section of your Pip-Boy if you learn about the treasures of Jamaica Plain) "Find the treasures of Jamaica Plain." At the end of it, among other “treasures” you will find the legendary baseball bat, which, when hit, has a small chance of throwing the enemy into the air. To get the trophy, all you have to do is beat enemies with it (it definitely works on people, ghouls and super mutants) and when this chance works, the achievement will be yours.

They say that you can also be blown up by any nuclear warhead - from the Fat Man, for example.

I actually got the achievement by accident when I died from some kind of explosion during a battle with mutants and didn’t even understand why.
