How to unlock the Unlikely Valentine achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Kinda straight forward and story related mission. Make sure when you rescue Valentine you take the Bobblehead "Speech" from the desk in the room he is held.

I completed the quest a little over an hour ago, but it still has not popped. Anyone else bugged?

Not sure if there's a problem with achievements at the moment. I've also done this and scaver but neither have popped

I had the same thing happen with this achievement as well. Even reloaded my save 3 different times to try and get it to pop...no dice. I'm going to try and load a save further back and see if that one works.

How far back did you go? I went about 20 minutes behind finishing the quest, and replayed 3 times, and still no pop.

I'm in the same situation right now... Unlikely Valentine and the level 10 achievement didn't pop, and I've tried reloading my save and completing the quest again three times. Seems to be a pretty widespread problem with the new OS upgrade. Hoping this gets fixed soon.

This cheevo along with one other one just unlocked for me. The achievements were down for all games before but they will start trickling in now. I restarted my console (I did not uninstall any games) and I just said "Xbox, go to achievements" and looked at my game and saw this and the level 10 were now counted.

when I have the achievements "snapped" on my xbox, it says something like "achieved but unlocking". I guess that's better than nothing. Great video by the way

@PraXis91x i hear more complaints about achievements not unlocking. I don't have this problem. Beside that only TA isn't updating anymore after that BIG UPDATE.

TheKillerSniper Thanks. Think it all had to do with the big update. More problems for me my Windows 10 got screwed with the big update. I had to do a fresh install in the middle of creating all the video. Now i'm done i need a little sleep :)

I cannot even complete the mission. It tells to me "talk to Valentine", but I've been circling around him for minutes without getting a "talk" option.

The game glitches sometimes randomly. I have had this problem also with that junky in the vault. The quest says talk to him. But when I do nothing happens he keeps on taking his JET.

I've been getting achievements in this game but they aren't popping on the screen. Its been that way since the achievement issues awhile back.

Just wanted to add two things.

You can also get an issue of Astoundingly Awesome Tales in the vault.
If you give Mamma Murphy mentats on her 2nd chem request she gives you a line to say to Malone which will also defuse the stand off.

After reloading a save, Valentine finally decided to talk to me. I was looking at his face for about 10 minutes, and he wasn't talking. I kept thinking I've missed something until I finally decided to reload. Glad to unlock the achievement.

What I do to track the achievements is to snap the achievement app whenever I'm close to getting an achievement. This way, I know that it has unlocked even though it doesn't immediately pop on the screen.

Nevertheless, just save often.

You obtain this achievement for rescuing Nick Valentine from Vault 114.

There are two ways you can obtain it. The first is when you reach Diamond City, you can receive tips that Valentine will be able to help you. Then simply go to Valentines Detective Agency within the city and speak to Valentines assistant Ellie who will give you the quest. Even if you don't get the tips, you can just go straight to the detective agency and talk to Ellie.
The second way is just to go straight to Vault 114. Just find Valentine and the quest will trigger once you done talking with Valentine.

Once you've located Valentine within the Vault, it's a simple matter of following Valentine and shooting anyone in your way. Don't worry about Valentine dying, as he can't. Once you have exited the Vault, the achievement will unlock.

Whilst in Vault 114, you can also obtain the Speech Bobblehead, it is in the same room as Valentine is when you find him.

This is the second quest in the main storyline. In order to start this quest, you need to talk to Ellie at Valentine's Detective Agency, doing this will also complete Jewel of the Commonwealth. Once you complete the rest of the quest the achievement will pop.

Story related and cannot be missed

This quest is given to you in Diamond City Market. You are tasked with finding Nick Valentine and will receive info that he is in Vault 114. Head over there and kill all the Gunners you come across. In the Overseer's room, you will find Nick so escape with him and the quest will complete.

In Diamond City, in the market, find the Valentine detective agency, then in the subway you will find it (there is a pop next to it). Upon exiting the metro it takes off
