This achievement glitched on me. Completed the quest a long time ago, can see it in my completed quest section but never got the achievement. Anyone know a fix?

this quest is a main quest. you need to have completed dangerous minds, shattered, then glowing sea. Then you will will be able to do Hunter/Hunted. So after you have talked to Virgil during The Glowing Sea you may progress to this quest

Why do you have to complete faction quests before this???
0
0
By DudeWithTheFace on 15 Nov 2015 00:59
I'm saying complete as far as you can so that's less work you have to do after you do this quest. so save after you've done this one

By VvWhiteFangvV on 15 Nov 2015 02:10
Just to be clear, you're saying to complete the 2 BoS, the 3 RR, and the 2 Ins quests/missions prior to completing this quest, and to save AFTER completing this quest?

I'm just trying to understand the wording properly, and the bouncing around to other guides is a bit cumbersome to piece together.

Yes you complete every mission you can for all factions and this quest and before you start The Molecular Level you save you can have the quest just don't start it

So we can go further than Show No Mercy for brotherhood? You guide says stop there..

Bit confused now

By Reabo on 15 Nov 2015 19:29
okay so no mercy is the BoS quest TML is a main quest. that quest you choose a faction. So do all the missions you can for each faction so that's less work or don't your choice. Show No Mercy is the last quest for the BoS before you have to get them the holotape from TML

Both of you guys are spot on. Institution can be started after you've done the main quest Institutionalized.

Awesome! Thanks for the speedy feedback and clarification, WhiteFang. I'll just keep an eye out for those quests/missions and set my save when appropriate.

i have found you can complete Institutionalized and still be good. i will be editing this. you have the right idea those faction quests is the lock out point for all other factions (battle of bunker hill for Institution)

so I did a hard reset and I checked the app but the achievement is still locked do I have to get the chip analyzed first and then it'll pop or should I have gotten it after I got the chip from the Courser?

You're guide is so confusing. Basically just play until I get TML, don't do that quest yet, just do everything else I can?

NOW HERE IS THE BIG THING. MAKE THIS SAVE SEPARATE AND DON'T OVERWRITE IT. HOLD ONTO THIS FOR YOUR DEAR LIFE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PLAY THIS 3 TIMES OVER

What save? The one you mentioned before or do I save after Hunter hunted?

you do as many quests as you want they will tell you before you fuck any factions up. like mass relay, killing the railroad and underground undercover

By VvWhiteFangvV on 28 Nov 2015 23:13
I'm reading a lot of conflicting info about where to save. For example, I read that you can do up to Mass Fusion (Save #1 - save at the warning but do not make a choice) and then you make another save after finishing Powering Up (Save #2).

1. Then, finish the Institute Line to get those cheevos.
2. Load Save #1 (Mass Fusion decision) and choose the option that the BoS will like and do the BoS quests
3. Load Save #2 (right after finishing Powering Up) and do Railroad quests

What I'm not sure about is whether you have to choose a specific faction to help you with building the relay.

Do you remember which RR quest asked that question? From what I've read, there is a point where you can "Continue working for father" but I think that's part of the Underground Undercover quest.

There's 2 things I didnt get form what you wrote.
1. You say this will avoid replayign 3 times. What exactly are you reffering to?
How do you avoid replaying 3 times based on what you said? It seems that you only explained how to find the hunter, kindly explain what you meant.
2. you listed 3 missions before the hunter/hunted part, what are they supposed to mean?

This is the last achievement that I have left, it's stuck on Done! Unlocking, replaying the quest hasn't helped, even on a new character. Not sure what to do.

Unfortunately it's a poor guide, as none of the faction quests listed can be completed before this quest.

I'm assuming he's just copy pasted it from another solution he's made.

This guide sucks. It’s like you cut and pasted from another guide, but CUT off too much. Vague doesn’t even begin to describe this guide.

So it could be one of three things.
1. You got the achievement and the notification never showed (check achievement app)
2. Delay pop (turn off xbox complete shut down, then start game)
3. if you're unlucky it's glitched. This hasn't been discussed to in depth but I'll do more research

Okay, final clarification (I was reading your other guides on this time saver section):

So what you are saying is to complete the faction quests up to what you've listed (stopping at Outside The Wire for BoS; Underground Undercover for RR; and Inside Job for the MM) because TML is the pivot point/selection path to finish the faction questlines?

To reiterate, wrap up the faction questlines and stop after completing faction quests Outside The Wire; Underground/Undercover; and Inside Job because once TML is completed there is no returning to finish those questlines, and TML is essentially where you'd be picking which faction to pursue/complete to the endgame?

What about The Institution? Are they before or after TML?

Again, sorry for all the questions, just trying to nail this one down because I'm approaching that point in the game where I'm likely soon to be in the mix of all this, and I'd like to be on top of it.

Thanks for all the edits/replies!

WhiteFang, thanks for your detailed guides throughout the Fallout 4 achievements. There's a lot of information, however, and I get easily overwhelmed with it, so I just want to clarify a few things. Having read your guides, people's comments on them, and even a wee peek at the official guidebook, I want to check that the following is correct and what needs to be done in order to get all the faction achievements (inc the Institution) and both ending achievements. If you could check I've understood everything and let me know if I've misinterpreted anything, that would be great! Here we go:

-All Minutemen acheivements are available regardless of anything. Siding with the BoS/RR/Institute doesn't affect them?

-Make a solid save after the main quest, 'Hunter/Hunted', to refer back to later.

-In order to get ALL faction achievements, progress as far through the main faction quests as far as possible before getting locked out ('Outside the Wire' for BoS, 'Underground Undercover' for RR), then after the save point at 'Hunter/Hunted', procede onto 'The Molecule Level' with a faction, finish the main quest with them, thereby getting the achievement for the 'Nuclear Option', and the final achievement for that faction (e.g 'Ad Victorium' for BoS). Then, go back to the save, and repeat all again with the other faction (e.g 'Red Rocket Flare' for RR, and so on...)

-Likewise, to finish the main quest with the Institute instead of those other factions, after 'Hunter/Hunted' just side with the Institute after the quest 'Institutionalised' in order to get all their achievements ('Mankind Redefined, etc), and the achievement 'Nuclear Family' (instead of the Nuclear Option).

Does that all sound okay?! If I've got anything wrong, please let me know! Just want to make sure I've fully understood what you've meant, because I'm getting close to the point where I'll need to make the saves and don't want to screw it up! Thanks. :)

Quest Giver: Virgil
Location: C.I.T. and nearby area

You are working with Virgil at this point to find a way into the Institute. He has you hunting down a courser to get their chip which will help with teleportation. The fight can be rather difficult in the confined space you battle him so bringing a companion can help take some of the pressure off of you.

Also, if you continue to feed chems to Mama Murphy she will actually give you a courser deactivation code in one of her visions. This is a good route to take if you want to avoid the tough battle.

Story related and cannot be missed

This quest is fairly short as you simply need to track down an Institute Courser. You will start in the C.I.T. ruins and you need to tune into the frequency so you can track the synth. Follow the beeps and the quicker it beeps get, the closer you are but the location you're looking for is Greenetech Genetics. Once inside, travel to the top floor to find the Synth then kill it and collect its chip.

If you improve your relationship with Deacon to 100%, he will give you a note with a reset password for the synth and ask you not to use it on him... but this password will help in killing the hunter.

This is not 100% of the relationship with the Deacon. He will give the code much earlier, but it will turn out to be nonsense, like everything he says.
