Not sure if this is glitched or not, but I can see the Mechanist and I have defeated a wave of robots. But now nothing. The Mechanist keeps saying "Bombs away" and "more mines", but well that's all - no more robots. The quest marker is on the mechanist, but i can't get to him/her. Any ideas??

Ok, I reloaded from just before you hit the holding cells and it worked fine... so yeah, must be a glitch

Good to see you got it sorted, man!

Restarting wouldn't sound that appealing... Blasting through may be easier said than done. You need at least level 15, plus the locations aren't all that accessible for a new character. Reloading earlier saves are a better idea.

Managed to finish the mission, but the achievement is stuck at "unlocking." hopefully it'll be fixed by tomorrow, since this has happened to me before

This achievement is still stuck at "Unlocking" for over 24 hours now. Any ideas how to fix this?

@Robster - Is it "Done! Unlocking..."? If so, then you kinda just have to wait. I've had achievements in a similar state not unlock for weeks.

Weeks? Seriously?! Last time this happened (and yes, it said "done, unlocking") it was fixed the next day. ...Least this time I can still get other achievements to pop when I get them, so it won't wreck my current streak.

Unfortunately, yeah. With the Master Chief Collection, it took me 6-7 weeks for it to fix itself. Don't think there's anything you can do to force fix it at this point.

Stuck at "Done! Unlocking..."?

I've completed this quest at least 8 times now, still not unlocking achievement(s), the Restoring Order one or the Unlocking all robot mods. I've reloaded from saves before starting the quest multiple times, changed dialog options each time, sometimes killing her in the end, sometimes letting her live, still not unlocking the achievement. I've submitted a request to have this looked into with the Bethesda site. Very, very, annoying.

I remember back in the early days of Destiny that achievements stuck at unlocking could be fixed by selecting "Change Profile" in the game and re-selecting the profile you're currently playing on. Fallout 4 isn't the same, but maybe a similar fix can be tried. Signing out and into your profile while the game is loaded in the main menu.

Mentioned this to Xbox Live Support, they said it's one of those things that requires an update.

Bethesda and Microsoft... Epic. Fail. To you both.

Damn, that sounds like a persistent bug then. I would suggest reloading a previous save (if you have any) or blasting through the DLC on a secondary character. No, not the best advice, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I remember the final wave of robots included Trashbots, and The Mechanist's mainframe had a countdown going, indicating the waves were nearing their end.

Hopefully I don't suffer the same month+ long process, but I've got mine stuck since "unlocking" a few days ago. Just a warning for those also experiencing this, you're not alone :/

Decent way to beat Mechanist in final battle is to find a good corner or mostly block location. Then the robot horde comes to you. I then clanked them with Atoms Judgement. Ducked back in my corner every so often for a stimpack fix and then wait for the next in line to be sacrificed in the name of Atom.

Once you start the final battle with the Mechanist, head up to the catwalk above where you entered and USD the dark corner to evade the explosions and lightning. Being crouched and silenced weapons help here.

Story related and cannot be missed

You will unlock this trophy after completing the final quest in the Automatron DLC called 'Restoring Order', see below for more details:

This quest will take place in 'The Mechanist's lair'. Once you reach the end you will have to fight a large number of robots, if you struggle you can lower the difficulty but this shouldn't pose a problem even if you are tackling this post game, just be wary of the Assaultrons that explode like a mini nuke upon death. Afterwards the Mechanist will reveal her identity and you can persuade them not to fight you, however if you do choose to fight her then she has a legendary laser pistol and the unique Mechanist's armour set but you can also get the armour by taking the non-violent option.

This is a story based achievement. It is the final quest of the DLC and cannot be missed.

Please read this beforehand.

I am writing this guide to mainly warn you that this achievement is still not unlocking for some people, myself included as of 10/29/2022. Luckily I had a save right before I entered the Mechanist lair. This time I rushed in with a powerful gun, stimpacks and power armor. I beat the quest legit the first time and got the ending I wanted but did not get the achievement. I rushed through to the end and got the achievement when completing the quest on my other save.

I highly recommend creating a sperate save before entering the lair, or just after the area with all of the cages. This is just before the final area.

You'll get this quest after you've completed "A New Threat" and "Headhunting".

Ada wants to speak with you. After your conversation install the M-SAT into any robot. That robot needs to accompany you, because the mod lets them open locked doors. So I'd recommend installing it to Ada, but don't give her Sentry Legs; you're going to have a hard time inside the Mechanist's Lair with her restricted mobility. Before heading off, take a few Rad-Away with you, since there are Tankbots, that might explode with 200+ RADS.
Go to the RobCo Sales & Service Center, where the Mechanist's Lair is located, near the Boston Airport. Fight your way through the robots inside the lair until you confront The Mechanist. (If you confront him as the Silver Shroud, you'll get a completely different dialogue).
You'll get the chance to kill or spare The Mechanist and you get to shut down the Facility. Do so and talk to the Mechanist and Ada afterwards and the quest is completed and you get your achievement.

The final mission and the longest in the expansion, the hardest part is skirmishes with the enemy, and again) it all depends on your level and the difficulty level of the game)

In the last battle, my skill - a robotics expert - helped a lot. Just swing it to 1 and you can turn on the deactivation and self-destruction of enemy robots.
