How to unlock the Wasteland D.I.Y. achievement in Fallout 4 - Definitive Guide

Jet can be made at a Chemistry Station and it only requires 2 fertilizer and 1 plastic to make. Myrna and her robot in Diamond city sell junk and they always have some fertilizer and plastic to sell. A chemistry station can be found in Diamond City at the Mega Surgery Center. I was able to make about 70 Jet just with the junk i was carrying at the time, so it shouldn't take long to acquire the materials needed for 100.

probably because i waited until the end of the game and had so much "crap" back at sanctuary as my "stash house" it took me maybe 1 or 2 minutes to continually craft 100 jet. great solution and idea to come up with just doing JET..

I have tons of material. So I went and made jet. Just spamed the a button. After a minute or so I stopped and checked to see how many jet I had on me. 175 I had. No achievement angry

So I have 167 chems crafted and over 50 foods crafted but the achievement just says 100% and won't unlock. It isn't doing the standard "Done!... Unlocking." thing, it has remained locked. Anyone have any idea?

If you need fertilizer and have a ton of caps, Connie Abernathy at Abernathy Farms and Supervisor Greene at Graygarden sell 2 Shipments of 25 each (for a total of 100) for about 300 caps each. That's how I got it as I had a bunch of plastic but no fertilizer.

I was having trouble unlocking this until I realized I had already cooked well over a hundred items. I tried loading a previous save and spammed Jet. THANKFULLY, the achievement popped. I must have been offline when I passed the 100 mark before

I'd like to point out that not everything you craft counts you towards the achievement. The game only looks at the "Chems crafted" and "food cooked" numbers. You can find your current count under the Data tab in your Pip Boy. Scroll down to crafting and add the two numbers together to see how many more you need to get to 100 items crafted.

The rest of the catagories such as "weapon mods crafter" and "objects built" don't count towards the achievement. Only the 4th and 5th catagories that I mentioned above. Hope this helps!

Great guide. Only thing I'd add is to save before your crafting, incase the chevo doesn't pop. FO4 has some buggy achievements and if you save before just to be safe it might save you time getting back up to that point.
Also, Jet sells pretty nicely if you're in need of caps :P

If you need fertilizer there's about 7 bags of the stuff in graygarden, and another 3 in the house (past an expert locked door in the basement) in the house to the west. You can also buy some from a vender who you'll find tending the plants outside graygarden.

You'll be accused of stealing if you take the bags but if you complete a quest for one of the robots inside the place, you can have them all for nothing. I completed this quest while working along the minute men questline.

I also found that travelling to sanctuary was beneficial as you can drop your junk and scrap them there in build mode, and there's a chem station in the south west of the village behind the yellow house. There's also a fair bit of plastic you can find easily by scrapping things here, as well as in other settlements if you don't wish to pay for it.

Easiest solution:

If you're a typical Fallout player, you've probably collected every kind of chem you've come across, so hopefully you should have tons of chems to spare for this.

Simply craft the two special chems Bufftats and Psycho Jet over and over again. Bufftats requires just Buffout and Mentats, Psycho Jet requires just Psycho and Jet. I had just about 50 of each chem so it was no problem for me. Takes about a minute or two to get the achievement doing this method depending on how long it takes for you to spam the A button.

If you need to find some chems there are plenty of traders across the game world that sell them. Obvious ones being the one in Diamond City in the market area, Wolfgang at Drumlin Diner if you sided with him, Doc Weathers who wanders the Commonwealth with caravans (can sometimes be found in Bunker Hill). And of course, chems are located ALL over the world in containers. You should be collecting chems already to have enough to do this method.

I chose to use your guide and it by far worked the best and got me progress the fastest for the achievement. Thanks for the idea.

This is actually a very easy way to do it. Especially since there's the Diamond City Blues side quest. (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Diamond_City_Blues)
Making sure to get the chems (in 5 ...steamer trunks, I think) after the fight, and you'll have way more Buffout/Mentats and Psycho/Jet than you'd need. Especially, if you take everything.

Plus one ... super simple. Got it in seconds. Just needed to remember to go to a chem-station rather than a cooking station.

Yeah, easiest way to do it especially if you're like me and never bother using chems. I had over 100 of each chem by the time I was level 50 so that's plenty for this achievement.

I discovered a quick and very easy way to do this. I'm unsure if a specific DLC is needed (very likely it's Contraptions Workshop), but there is a crafting item at Chemistry Stations under Traps called Caltrops. Requires 5 steel each. If you just disassemble everything in Sanctuary and neighboring Settlements, you should have enough steel to make 100 Caltrops. That's 500 steel.

For anyone reading, its the Far Harbour DLC that adds this.

Hey guys, I noticed no solution here for this relatively easy to get but slightly time intensive achievement to get.

I am relatively certain you can get this using a bunch of different methods, and will likely get it over normal play through, but the one I will be using is by cooking meat acquired through trading and killing things.

If you need a cooking location one that I used primarily is Starlight Drive In and direction left of it is Drumlin Diner (thank you Grimace 221) -the woman there is a trader as well as having the occasional trashcan Carla who is a traveling merchant (don't forget you can use wait command by sitting in a chair/stool)

With the use of both of these locations and fast traveling it is possible (depending on your caps, (no you don't need to save) Using and buy any 'uncooked' meat she has and roast it on the cooking location already available at Starlight. For example radroach or brahmin meat.

Please note you will run into 2 non critical not all too difficult named raiders at the diner, and some mole rats at the drive in if it's your first time there. But once cleared you shouldn't run into anything other than the occasional couple of raiders at the drive in.

You can get some fair exp and very good food/recovery items (better and faster than stimpacks in some cases) by using this method. But it isn't necessary to save.

*~ extra but not necessary
The magazine found aboard the U.S.S riptide (directly south of the C.I.T. ruins and north of diamond city you can find a magazine which allows you to collect more meat from animal kills. *re edit others have reportedly gotten the issue with this perk in various locations.

Please comment, I will edit if need be. Just hope this helps!

Easiest and fastest way

Plus

-Achievment not unlocking fix-

Chances are you already crafted 100 things and haven't realised it. If you xbox wasn't connected to live when this happened you didn't get the achievment. Double check on stats. If you have already passed 100 crafted things load a previous save where you haven't yet and disable save.

Okay, depending on how far you went back the easiest thing to craft is caulops (I most likely didn't spell that right). They're little steel spike traps that can be crafted at your Chemstation at red rocket. They cost 5 steel and steel is very abondent in fo4. If you run out of steel at red rocket just warp to another settlement and load back up on as much steel as possible. If you disable saving, you won't have to worry about scrapping whatever you need. It's easier using one ingredient over something that requires multiple. Congrats, you got the achievment super easey!

I have to backtrack to old saves here there because of stuff that didn't unlock when it should have. If you have unlocking problems just go back to an old save, disable saving and bullshit that save to get what you're after so you don't mess your main game up.

This can be done in many ways. The easiest way for me was to craft Jet at a Chemistry Station. This requires 2 fertilizer and 1 plastic. Alternatively if you have the Far Harbor DLC you can craft caltrops and to do so you need a Chemistry Station and 5 Steel

You craft items on chemistry stations and cooking stoves. For the trophy you just need to craft any drinks or chems but do note that food doesn't count for some reason. The best way to go about doing this is to loot every single creature you kill. Usually it'll drop meat which can be cooked to make something better. If you want this trophy quickly, then you can make 100 Jet if you like as it only costs 1 plastic and 2 fertiliser to craft one unit and those two materials are easy to come by. You can check how many items you have crafted by checking the "Crafting" section in the "Stats" area of the Pip-Boy.

Here we are talking things like food and chems. If you collect meat from creatures you kill over the course of playing through, you should amass a healthy collection that you can then take to a cooking station.

One of the easiest items to make tons of is jet. You simply need fertilizer and plastic (200 fertilizer and 100 plastic for 100 rounds of jet).

You should have nearly unlimited resources if you ransacked the dev room with the "coc qasmoke" command. Enter any workbench and create the item that costs the least ingredients (cooking some meat is probably the fastest) and repeat that 100 times.

We are building a chemical laboratory. I got a trophy after creating 100 charges for an injection pistol.

It is not necessary to build a chemical laboratory; it is located at the Red Rocket truck stop. Come and create (:

We do this:
1. We go to the colonial bar in Diamond City. There will be a fight (between Paul and Henry)
2.After some time, Paul will meet you on the streets of Diamond City and ask you for help.
3.Do not attack Henry! Next, he will offer you to disrupt the meeting of a rich man from Diamond City.
4.After breaking the deal and talking with the ghoul, you will be able to pick up the contents of the boxes - five boxes will contain ten pieces of each type of chemical (screw, psycho, buffout...)
5. We take the contents, 50 pieces of chemicals come out. We find any chemical laboratory and start combining all the chemicals, and we get psycho-screws, buff-tats and the like - this should be enough for you

PS I already received platinum a long time ago, so there may be mistakes in the calculations

When I played through the game, I collected almost nothing from the trash. Therefore, of course, I couldn’t quickly make some items, and even 100 pieces. I didn't find any clues. Therefore, this tip is for those who do not like to engage in long and tedious collecting, but want to get this trophy in about 10-15 minutes:
1. We need a settlement with a chemical laboratory (For example, Sanctuary) in which we will produce a “screw” (In my opinion, the simplest item that requires a minimum of components) and about 6000 caps.
2. To make 100 units of propeller you need 100 plastic and 200 fertilizer.
3. We make a save, why should we spend money on some nonsense.
4. We go to the Damon City market. Next to the bar there is a shop where Mirna sells during the day and a robot at night. We buy the remaining components from this store. We wait 12 hours - we buy from Mirna, we wait 12 hours - we buy from the robot. To wait, we turn around and sit on a chair that is located nearby in the bar. A batch of plastic (25 pieces) costs approximately 160 caps. A batch of fertilizers (25 pieces) - about 640 caps. If the components disappear after 12 hours, then wait 24 hours.
5. We make 100 pieces of “Vinta” in the chemical laboratory and the prize is yours.
6. After receiving the trophy, simply load the save file back.

Any chemical laboratory will do + 500 steel in stock, and we make 100 pcs of spikes. Everything will take no more than a minute.

In the new patches , you can't create spikes in the Chem Lab! Perhaps it was possible to do this in old patches.
