How to unlock the A Golden Future achievement in Fallout 76 - Definitive Guide

There are two factions that you will have to choose between near the middle of the main questline of the Wastelanders update: The Foundation and Crater. You will work with both for the first half of the quests to get acquainted with each. The game will then make it very obvious when you’re about to make the irreversible decision of picking sides. Don’t worry, the group you don’t pick doesn’t become hostile, you are just locked out of their main quests specifically. Because this game shouldn't actually exist, you can’t make save backups, so you will need two characters to complete both this and Buried Treasure.

In order to access All That Glitters, you have to side with Foundation. Once you choose them, you will have to complete a series of quests before reaching All That Glitters, but it is ultimately the final quest (technically next to last, but the final quest is just some dialogue in the vault) of the Wastelanders questline as long as you side with The Foundation. I recommend doing this as well as the A Solid Foundation achievement on the same character as you will likely be just one rep level below Ally if you do just from main quest progression.

One last thing to note: before you pick between the two factions, you are given two objectives on a quest from the Overseer to discuss Vault 79 with each group. You can ignore the one that you do not wish to ultimately side with if you just want to finish the questline as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the information. One question, and this may seem dumb, but what is considered the main quest line for Wastelanders? Is it the questline that begins with meeting the Overseerer in her house?

Yes, the main quest line begins with the meeting the overseer. The wayward quest line is only a few quests that takes an hour or less to finish.

Those are the names of the point of no return quests. "Side with Crater" and then "Side with Foundation". You even are prompted with a point of no return screen when you go to start each of these quests making it really hard to miss. Both quest lines are doable up to this point on one character.

Saviour, I believe the quest is called "New arrivals" and I THINK but can't confirm, you need to be about level 20. If someone else chimes in with more info though, that would be good

Does playing that quest with someone else give achievement to both players? Or is it solo only? My friend and I play so I'm thinking if we break off to one faction each, and play the finale, boom. Then he joins me on the other faction, boom. Can anyone confirm?

you freakin' suck at the game then and don't know how to manage your equipment; I'm at lvl 300+ and the highest i've seen an enemy is 100 and they're pushovers, I can solo daily ops.

Before you fix a weapon but the weapon artisan card on so you can over repair your weapon; and have gunsmith so they last longer once you've repaired them, manage your inventory and supplies. This game is a walk in the park

Remember when the devs said “don’t worry; you can complete every mission completely solo if you want”? Then they made it so all enemies are higher level than you and forces you to fight 3 star legendary raid bosses to complete the mission? This game fucking sucks. By the time I get to the boss all my weapons are broken.

@Snoop QC - I don’t remember the quest name, but the game gives you a warning pop up when you choose to either “Side with Foundation” or “Side with Crater”. You really can’t miss it. You have the option to continue from the warning or back out of the conversation.

*MISSABLE*

This is the final quest in the Settlers quest line. Complete Trade SecretsInvisible TiesDuty CallsSiding With FoundationDivision of Wealth, and All That Glitters to unlock this achievement.

Note: This and Go for the Gold (30G) are mutually exclusive. If you choose to side with a faction, you will be unable to work with the other faction on that character (but can continue to increase your reputation with them). You will need a second character to unlock the other achievement.

Missable

This trophy is for the Settlers story arc. You will have to choose to side with the Settlers during that arc, which prevents getting Go for the Gold with the same character. This is missable if you choose to side with the Raiders. You can do a few of their story arc missions but be careful when the game gives you the big pop-up warning about siding with them.

Begin with the quest The New Arrivals. You need to be Level 20, then you will find it in your Main Quests list. Complete that quest and continue with Overseer Overseen. As part of that one, you will be sent to the Settler camp to discuss Vault 79. At that point, the Settlers begin the quest Trade Secrets. Complete that quest and the 5 that follow it, the last one is All That Glitters and will give the trophy upon completion.

The story choices you make during the quests do not affect the trophy award. However, if you want to maximize your reputation gains for A Solid Foundation, you should always choose the friendliest options – give items for free, try to keep everyone alive. You can exit out of most dialogues to use consumables to boost your stats if you need to access different dialogue options.

Like the “Chasing Gold” trophy, it requires a second playthrough. Access to the task opens from level 20. It took me about 16 hours to level up from zero to level 20. To simplify the passage, you need to pump up strength, intelligence, charisma - you can skip a couple of requests from factions (run less).

We create a second character, level it up to lvl 20, complete the tasks of the caretaker, you don’t need to collect her holotapes, as soon as she appears in the town, we go to her. In short, these are tasks about vaccination, we create a vaccine and then get acquainted with the Support and the Crater, for this we also go through a chain of missions, then we go through tasks only given by the Support - we help the doctor ghoul with the search for robot parts, then the woman with the search for her mother’s invisible suit, Then we help the military with the search for parts for the robotic brain; before the storming of the shelter, one will be kidnapped and she must be rescued, and then the last mission. Attention, the above is described briefly, in fact there are more conditions there. Be careful, there is a high chance of leaving the event branch, it’s not critical, but it’s not worth wasting extra time.
Here are the main missions that are needed;
Strange friendship
Union with Opora
Under the caretaker's eye
New arrivals
Invisible connections
We're here to stay
Trade secrets
Duty calls
Sharing the wealth
All that glitters.
